I don't know if there will ever be anything we can do to predict/prevent this in the future tbh. I'm a pathetic enough person to have followed Chris since 2009, and I never once thought he would actually rape someone. I don't think anyone who's followed his activities imagined it would end this way. He seemed like a harmless idiot who, if he ever did want to try and cross a major line, would be too incompetent to actually do it. He had some violent tendencies, but was always such a buffoon he never seriously hurt anyone with any of his tantrums.

But, I don't think he views what he did to Barb as an act of violence, even though Barb said no and for him to stop and he kept going anyway. He does seem convinced that he did nothing wrong with how he describes his actions, and with how he acts in certain videos with Barb where he's upset because he wants her to say things more flirtatiously or whatever. I don't think he even understands that Barb didn't/couldn't consent. We can't have predicted he was up to something sinister by his behavior in videos or on social media because, to him he was doing nothing wrong so he had no reason to be acting shady or like he was hiding something.

I'm not going to say there weren't any signs, he did openly admit to having sex dreams about Barb and having a fetish for elderly people, but we can't assume that because somebody has a fucked up dream and decides it's a good thing to share it with the world, that that means they'll actually do the fucked up thing IRL.

I figure if charges are brought, it will end with him being put into some sort of mental home and not a prison. His total lack of understanding that what he did was even a crime makes me more certain that this will be the outcome.

Assuming his claims are true, he did something very bad. But we all know he's not of sound mind and hasn't been for some time. As before, there seems to be a very good chance that some trolls played a part in helping Chris build up that justification.

What exactly should be the consequences for Chris? Do you really think there's no redemption for him and he should just suffer forever regardless of him being a gullible, possibly schizophrenic idiot? The purpose of it was partially to help Chris and Barb pay various bills and mortgages (because they're in massive debt and constantly squander their social security checks and Chris refuses to get a job), but also to allow Chris to attend a MLP convention called "Everfree" in Washington.

In the past Chris has resorted to making videos begging for donations, so in an act of pity(?) Null helped Chris set up a GoFundMe where Chris would basically draw commissions for anyone who donated a certain amount-- so essentially he just tricked Chris into actually working a little bit.
