I pretty much regard the U.S. as ungovernable. We haven't passed any major legislation in my lifetime apart from Obamacare and the PATRIOT Act.

Private enterprise is supposed to pick up the slack. Here in my state, I see hundreds of millions being given away in no-bid contracts, but nothing ever comes of it.

So you basically expect people to just "search for the piles of evidence" for you, even when @Fwiffo only asked you to support your claims, and all you can say is "Cuntrewl Ur Feers Sheple" over and over and over again, consistently insulting people (even claiming that even if Fwiffo gives up their beliefs, they still should face "an appropriate period of mockery"), and continue to make a bunch of other claims that you don't bother to support either. At least do your end of the bargain before telling people to "do the research".

Part of the problem is that the people shitting up the thread don't seem to have an apparent goal in mind with it. It purely seems to be all about "winning the argument" and "owning the sheeple". Part of one of @You Bastard Guy's posts in this seems to sum this up in a neatly wrapped package:

I don't think there's really much of a message to repeating the same 5 phrases over and over again, while also not practicing any single one of them in their own worldview. Who exactly are they trying to convince in a thread about making fun of people peddling COVID and vaccine conspiracy theories?

"Though this be madness, yet there is a method to it."

It's an online campaign to 'redpill' message boards, and it's pretty effective. These calls for people to act stupid would have a smaller effect if they didn't have a such large reach in social media, namely Twitter, Facebook, and Whatsapp groups.

I see. I'm just vaguely aware of that whole concept of "redpilling" in those scenarios, as I've always seen that as nothing more than the "woke" of conspiracy theory circles, where it's an obnoxious phrase used to declare how much you think you know.
