I’m going to posit a probably unpopular idea in hopes of maybe laying to rest the whole Barb raped Chris theory so we can stay on target. This isn’t in defense of her actions towards Chris over the years, I’m merely trying to be objective:

Barb and Chris had an emotionally incestuous relationship for years. That doesn’t mean sexual; it simply means lacking in normal boundaries. There was clear issues with physical and emotional boundaries, control, manipulation, and histrionics. When she threatened suicide over Chris leaving to go to ponycons, she likened it to him abandoning her. She was already damaged long before Chris came into the picture, and if his current admissions are anything to go off of, there’s a likelihood that she was sexually abused at a very young age. This would explain her later promiscuity, abuse of both children, shopping/hoarding/overeating tendencies and inappropriate closeness with Chris after Bob died (ie. Spooning). Barb wasn’t grooming Chris for sex, but she was grooming him to be complicit in her own codependency. Her needs were based on having someone there, and controlling them to stay there because being alone was/is probably something she isn’t emotionally capable of.

Chris is heavily autistic and "slow in the mind" (obviously partially retarded). He didn't talk for several years of his development, and his parents didnt get him any help. Did Null just assume he was lying? Has Chris made claims like this before and it was proved he was making it up? Did he do any investigation beyond this conversation or did he just take what Chris said at face value and ignore it?

If Chris tells you something of this magnitude (he's having an actual, ongoing, consensual, sexual relationship with a real, fully functioning adult) shouldn't that immediately get your noggin jogging? Wouldn't you want to know who in their right mind would be in a sexual relationship with Chris? Don't you start trying to connect dots? Would you not be curious?

Feel like this is super obvious in context of what we know now, but honestly I really really wouldn't of even had the mother of someone ping on my radar especially if they contacted me to tell me about the relationship.

I don't really think Null could have suspected Barb here with the information he was given since I doubt the idea of it being Barb was really floating around his head. I understand what you're saying, and I don't disagree. However, I think you might have misunderstood what my post was about because none of what I said had anything to do with what was mentioned in your comment. The post was in response to people stating that Barb raped Chris and the evidence they were using to justify this idea was their inappropriate Mother/Son relationship that constantly referenced back to Chris spooning his mother.

I'm neither arguing that it isn't inappropriate, nor that Chris isn't a product of his environment. I'm just saying that I don't think that Barb was grooming Chris for sex.
