Funny what happens when you actually file a police report.Whatever the truth of the claims, filing a police report is absolutely privileged in Texas as it is in most places against civil suit. It can be a crime, but it's up to the state to prosecute it. Reporting a crime to the police is what you do if it actually happened (or you are insane), but it enjoys absolute immunity.
Reporting a "crime" to Twitter is what you do if you want to defame someone.
HOAs are shit. They apparently were arguing that they were owed whatever they claimed, as a matter of law, based on nothing other than they said so. It seems like Chupp was his usual curt, abrupt self, and disposed of the case quickly, but abuse of discretion? Nope.

One of the actually competent things Lemoine did was requesting findings of fact and conclusions of law, depriving Chupp's fee ruling of the rebuttable presumption of validity.
Amazingly, you get the benefit of the doubt.
