Whenever I post something truly angry, I justifiably and deservedly get autistic ratings. Well, I'm pretty pissed off:

From this article.

The last line. Fuck them. Fuck them in the ass with an unlubed dragon dildo.

I'm pretty sure that genderbending in anime isn't the same as transitioning, right? At least in anything I've seen.
It's always like, "Oh no! Wacky circumstance have forced me to become the opposite gender! How will I ever get back to normal?" A trans person would want to transition to another gender, but gender bent characters are forced to transform and want to get back to their normal forms.

Look at something like Pretty Face, where the main character has to disguise himself as a girl for the entire series. It's not because he's trans or anything, but because circumstances required him to disguise himself. It's not really the same as transitioning.

Horrible people do horrible things like exploit tragedies for their own gain, in this cause brownie points for his shit series.

But this other bit pisses me off because it lacks understanding of an entirely different culture. The way the Japanese view trans people is as different as the Natives or Indians view them and bashing the two confirmed trans people in anime (Grelle from Black Butler and Miss Hana from Tokyo Godfathers) as if they weren't good enough representation because US centrism is actually pretty fucked up. (Also, Ramna 1/2 is what he referenced and Ramna is not trans, if anything they are genderfluid because of a family curse.)

If he's trying to show he's open-minded and understanding, he only comes off as a complete tool.

Also I could've sworn that there was an anime that was on a few years ago that was about a boy and girl who were both trans and the entire series was about them going through their transition in a serious tone. I'm having a hard time finding its existence namely because I don't even remember the name of it.

Wait found it. Wandering Son. Never watched it myself so I can't really vouch for the quality of it.

That, and there actually are manga and anime where trans people are portrayed sympathetically and rather realistically, like Wandering Son and Bokura No Hentai (no, it's not hentai, the english translation of the name is "Our Transformations"). And honestly, from the look of things, I doubt that series like Gen Zed and Assigned Male handle transgender issues better than these series.

I should warn you that numerous wikipedia editors consider "transgender" to be an umbrella term that also includes gender non-conforming people, so some of the series listed on that page might be about cross-dressers and etc. and not transgender people in the sense that we know.

There's a lot of media in this world. A lot. I have a hard time believing that Gen Zed really is the first (only) animated work in the history of animation to feature a trans person in a lead role - whether you mean voice actor/actress or character is up for debate, but there's no way Gen Zed is the first for both individually.

If someone points this out to them, I'll bet you anything they'll just fall back on "but none of them had TRANS VOICE ACTORS TO PLAY THEIR TRANS LEADS". They've already shown that they don't care about backpedaling and making their "accomplishment" either broad or ridiculously narrow whenever it best suits them.

Nevermind that the state of trans rights is such in Japan that trannies are seen as outcasts and deviants*, eternal punchlines, and largely unemployable. If you dare point that out you're just a hater and a transphobe

*(Bokura no Hentai actually plays off "hentai"'s dual meaning of "transformation" and "perversion" for this reason. Wandering Son most likely takes place in a late elementary school (American middle school) setting to emphasize the characters' innocence and dash said stereotypes. They're very good examples of trans representation in their cultural context, which is probably why SJWs bury the fuck out of them. /sperg)

"Mein Kompf."

The asian girl is the only one with a vaguely human looking body. The black guy looks more like a racist caricature what with the big lips. The whitecishet has a demented potato for a head, weird ass eyes and his body is just physically impossible, and not in a charming cartoony way. Transgirl, again, looks like a stereotype, with the huge chin and nose. The asian girl is the only one with a somewhat appealing design, and the only thing holding it back, really, is the fact that she seems to have gotten dressed in the dark.

I didn't know Bosom Buddies was a progressive transgender sitcom until just now.

As long as they don't come out as Canisgender, I can get behind the message. But at this point I feel like Genzed is going for pitypoints.

They sure are. They probably grabbed a graphic made by someone else (there's some kind of logo in the right corner), reposted it without credit and added every LGBT-related tag they could think of... and also tagged it 'gen zed'. They're basically saying "Hey look! We really care about trans people! Watch our show!" It's completely opportunistic. They've done it several times too.
Doesn't look like Tumblr is falling for it though. Most of their posts have less than 10 notes.

Gen Zed Tumblr posted two of the VA's speaking at the panel.
This might have already been posted here, I am not sure, but here they are after a spoiler.
Very short, thankfully.

They need more fat old women with moo moos for the show because they have one on the panel. Then they could call it the "Bertha Butt Sisters". I bet that show would be far better.

also I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHAT THE FREAKY ASS BLACKFACE GUY LOOKS LIKE!!!

(PS: "Rah and the Muggles" was a gloria tesche level shitfic which rose to notoriety back during Harry Potter's heyday when its author went full spastic and tried to sue rowling for using the word "muggle" and other, infinitely more idiotic reasons, ranging from featuring boats in the story, to using the word "happy". no. I am not joking)
