Shona's VA has a big chin, and I would not have sex with her.

Tumblr still ain't biting:

If your show can't even attract it's target audience, it doesn't show much hope. The core of a show's success really depends on whether it can entertain its target audience long enough for the ratings to be good. This is why shit like MLP can get away with man-children in their fandom, as plenty of actual little girls still watch it. But with this vitriol ... Gen Zed will go down in flames, and will not be remembered.

Found some tasty salt under the youtube promo

I didn't think it was possible for Tumblr to reject anything SJW related, and yet here we are.

Nobody likes being pandered to in such an obvious suckerbait way. Not even dumblr. The whole attitude of the show and the tards involved can be summed up in that shit-tier "Pew Pew" may may.

I've seen Takashi0 around on tumblr and they're generally critical of most "tumblr-style" social justice. I'd say we can't officially declare this show a failure until IDCP or someone like that denounces it (that being said, it's likely that someone like that will rage about it soon...)

I honestly can't say I hate the basic concept of the show. I can't really think of any shows that have a trans lead. (I'm sure there are, I probably just never heard of them)

The production values of this show look like shit though. Crappy animation, ugly character designs, ect. Stuff that looks like it came from Newgrounds back in the early 2000's. And if the target audience isn't responding well to it, then this show is doomed.

Despite tumblr's hivemind-esque love of all things SJW, beyond a certain point they're capable of smelling bullshit (yeah, that's rich considering the Arkh Project and dashcon and the average "I'm an oppressed self-diagnosed autistic trans womyn" donate button , but I like to hope that tumblr is learning).

For one, the trailer is unfunny. Like genuinely unfunny. For two, tumblrinas love pretty "kawaii" art that they can draw cute fanarts of... and this art is. Well. You know. What @scorptatious said. Crappy animation, ugly character designs, etc. [[Insert amateur art sperging I really need to figure out how to use spoiler tags and promise to edit this later]] -- Someone who's a better art student than me oughta help redesign them. The designs have potential, and there's none of the dreaded same face syndrome that tumblr hates (looking at you, Disney) -- but there's something about them that's unappealing. The (occasionally very) lifeless eyes. The wonky angles. In some of the shots the eyes don't even line up, which is... worrying. The color palettes aren't terrible and the backgrounds are actually pretty okay, but there's a bit of clash that could be worked out.

So you've got unfunny "comedy" show, "totally not kawaii" art, and a lead writer that could/would be described as "a problematic white cishet man" by much of tumblr.

Steven Universe is God in tumblr's eyes. Why? Because it gets a decent amount of giggles out of its audience, it has some pretty nice character design/color work, and Rebecca Sugar isn't "a problematic tool of the patriarchy".

Finally, Shona is white and thin. This might be good enough for the tumblrinas if this was a show that didn't reek of pandering and problematic head writers, but the lack of oppression/representation points just helps sink it further into the mud for them, at this point. Even the gender ratio of the main cast (3 girls to 1 guy, as far as we can tell, and this is just assuming the writers don't throw curveballs at us for shits and giggles) isn't gonna help out.

Tumblr rejected it because it deserves to be rejected. I've seen student animations and shitty webcomics that have more love and effort put into them.

Meanwhile I'll be watching it ironically, in all likelihood, if only to see how bad it is. Gotta say I'm very morbidly curious as to what the hell these people are gonna do. Hopefully it'll be so bad it's good.

It would also help if the the folks behind the show would learn to PR. They are new and are supposed to be winning people over. If you treat everybody like a potential troll, especially the curious and the skeptics, then you are going to alienate everyone. Someone needs to send these people these books
http://www.amazon.com/Public-Relations-Dummies-Eric-Yaverbaum/dp/0471772720
http://www.amazon.com/Marketing-Dummies-Business-Personal-Finance/dp/1118880803/

They have no idea how PR works. Browbeating people into compliance does not make for a good long-term strategy, especially when most people have not bought into your bullshit.

It occurs to me they could have tried a lot harder with black guy's t-shirt. It's supposed to be a t-shirt for the game they play but it just says BUGS in all caps and dull colors. Try to image Blizzard selling a t- shirt with WORLD OF WARCRAFT on the front in massive Comic Sans. That's what his shirt is like.

I think "pew pew" is what she, as a comedian, says everytime she makes a joke, a la "zing". Example: She told me "come over, there's nobody home". I went over, there was nobody home! Pew pew!

They really could've pointed this out in the trailer, but they were too busy selling her real character trait: Her penis.
