Future of the House

The structural integrity of the house would probably have to be a little bit screwed up after that housefire, we are not entirely sure how the inside of his house has looked for a good few years now as well since we don't have a comprehensive house tour video to go off. Honestly if there is so much mould, cat piss stained carpets, rotting wood and neglected home maintenance in there, no amount of high pressure cleaners and bleach is going to make the house somewhat presentable for it to be sold on the market again, I at least think the house will be mostly demolished (except for the foundations) and rebuilt, or they just knock it down completely and just subdivide the land for more houses, since the block is big enough for more than one house, if they do end up wanting to go that route.

Very unlikely I know, but I actually do see the potential for that house to be some sort of immortalised lolcow museums, we know that Chris has a large infamous following and depending on how the course of his story goes, people will be talking about him for decades to come, it could easily end up being a type of pilgrimage shrine/temple for christorians/weens/followers whatever, and it can end up being a Sonichu Goddess temple of sorts, one that Chris actually wanted all along, but not intending for it to end up like this.

Don't think whoever ends up with the possession of the property would want to do anything of the sort though, unless someone like Null wants to move in...
The house got pretty well repaired after the house fire as the insurance company covered it if I remember right. And a full tear down and rebuild is a lot more rare than people think it is as the main supports of a house are generally pretty immune to more than people think. And while I didn't mention mold it has to get REALLY bad for it to be complete write off and not just a localized repair. The cat pee and dog shit is problematic but much less so then people think, especially if it's on linoleum like in a kitchen which is where the Chandler's let their animals shit if I remember right. Honestly the hoard protects a lot of the house from the pee and shit since the cats piss in the boxes rather than on the floor. While gross hoarders most of what Barb and Chris hoard is mostly harmless to a house unless the weight becomes extreme, which it isn't in this case.

Basically from what I've seen from the videos the house is perfectly salvageable unless they've really fucked something major up like having a broken water pipe in a wall and just fucking ignoring it it's cheaper to gut the few rooms that are bad, replace the drywall, redo floors and then repaint everything than it is to demolish and rebuild the house. The consumer goods trash that Barb wasted all her money on from QVC isn't a big deal to deal with, just dumpster it the same as Chris's toys.

edited for spelling

I feel sorry for whoever has to sell this house. They'll be getting a 24/7 bombardment of prank calls. And I feel even more sorry for whoever buys this house, since they'll be doxed by internet weirdos and also receive prank calls. The only reason anyone would ever want to live at 14BC if they knew the horrors that went down there is if they themselves are an internet weirdo who wants to own one of the ultimate pieces of Christory.

I bet there's some crypto-millionaire out there who would do just that, or a few of them could pool their cash together and outbid anyone else. Zillow says that 14BC is worth about $211,000 at today's (inflated) market value and there's enough fucking weirdos out there who could raise that in a GFM or whatever. Unfortunately, 14BC is fucking cursed by autism so odds are whoever was leading the project would end up scamming everyone involved and keep the drama going for years.

Assuming Chris loses ownership of the house (which is looking very likely right now), the bank will most likely demolish that shithole and either build a new house on top or just sell the empty plot. They're not going to sell a house that has a) been home to a filthy horde for decades and b) been partially damaged by fire unless they're intentionally willing to lose money from it

I would think after a through investigation of the property, it would be wise to just demolish it and start anew. All the intense cleaning, scrubbing and renovating in the world cannot erase the years of neglect, damage and trauma that property holds.

Say it does get on the market, a simple Google search of 14 Branchland Court Ruckersville, VA will give you the CWCiki page detailing all the history that has happened there. Information that Chris has publicly revealed over the years. Not to mention the several pictures of how rundown said house is.

As an aside, look at what's near it. :story: Third Dimension Productions.

I cannot see that house faring well on the market. Again, it would be best to just tear it down and have it be a memory.

Generally when you go to prison your assets are passed to a trustee, usually a member of your family. Chris and Barb may not have anyone like that, so it's likely an attorney will be in charge of it.

It will be auctioned off to pay off debts, and proceeds will go to Barb, if any. Most likely she'll be put in a home, the house will vanish, and neither of them will see any money from it. Chris will be on his own if convicted, and will probably end up in an institution.

Bottom line is, when an inmate does not have reliable family, or friends, or someone to take care of their things, essentially they lose EVERYTHING. So whenever they are released, they are completely without anything except for what they are wearing/carrying when they walk pass those gates.

I highly doubt either Chandler will be returning to live at 14BC. Now that the State of Virginia is fully involved in their lives, state officials will realize that neither Chris nor Barb are capable of safely being independent from responsible adult supervision. They'll likely become wards of the state and be sent to some kind of care facilities, possibly a correctional facility in Chris' case depending on how the investigation goes and what the case workers, DA, and judge involved decide.

Due to the nature of Barb's debt and her mortgage, the bank fully owns the house. It will be foreclosed and the bank will move forward with recouping what it's owed from Barb. That often includes any items inside the home and on the property grounds that can be sold or auctioned off for profit. The bank may decide that putting the home as-is on the market is a bad idea and they may demolish the house and build a new home on the lot, along with grounds keeping/changes to the landscaping to make the property more desirable. They may demolish the house and just sell the lot for the future owner to develop how they want.

But hey, if a fan wants to buy it as a relic, more power to them.

That often includes any items inside the home and on the property grounds that can be sold or auctioned off for profit.
A LOT of Chris Chan "fans" will be lining up to get whatever they could salvage from that auction.

How long before someone digs up Patti's skull and puts it on eBay?

Animal skulls are useful for science experiments and make interesting decorations. Many species are available depending on what you are looking for and how you wish to obtain the animal skulls. If you are thinking of obtaining animal skulls or purchasing them on eBay, it helps to know a few basics.

Can you find ethically sourced animal skulls?

Yes, ethically sourced animal skulls can be found on eBay. These skulls come from animals which have died from natural causes, rather than being hunted or killed for sport. If you would like to purchase animal skulls, check the sellers information regarding how they are sourced.

Uh, maybe?

When a bank repossesses a house, it's common to contract out a "property preservation" company to do a "trash out" which includes basic cleaning. If the house has significant damage the bank passes the buck to the eventual buyer. Sell the house at auction to a flipper who does cheap repair to then resell it to an unsuspecting family who realizes a year later the house flippers did a shit job and now they're on the hook to do proper repairs. In this house market where people are buying sight unseen it'll be easy to sell it in any shape as long as they can take decent pictures.

The laws where I worked required us to hold possessions 30 days past eviction date or until the previous occupants signed off that they forfeit the remaining items. If they managed to get the house empty and clean before eviction they were eligible for a few thousand dollars "cash for keys" for saving the bank the clean up costs. During the "trash out" it was technically illegal to take items home - everything was supposed to go in the dumpster - but everyone did anyway.

In a gross hoarder house most shit is going to be shoveled in the trash but precious metals/instruments/working electronics/factory sealed items etc might be picked through by the contractors to resell but mostly it just isn't worth it.

It is rare for a house to be completely demolished. I only saw it happen once and to give a picture of how bad the house was, they left their pets there to die.

This is assuming it gets repossessed, can't speak for any other circumstance. And Virginia might have different laws on the foreclosure process. Foreclosure evictions are a lengthy process so don't expect any of this to happen quick.

How often would 3rd parties pick the dumpsters of valuables? In an age where old video game cartridges and plasitc toys from the 90s are sold to collectors I'd figure there'd be a lot of people looking to poach and dumpster dive repossessed homes.

Does anyone know if Chris still had pets? They're likely dehydrated or dead considering the time of year and length of absence.
The fire was bad enough. This could be much worse.

Is it weening to suggest calling animal wellfare to see if they're out of there?

Apparently Gibi the YouTube orbiter tweeted out that someone went to go make sure they're okay, so it looks like they probably won't die (at least for now) but as things move along, I'm not sure what their inevitable fate is going to end up being.

There would be a slim (incredibly slim) possibility of something like that if the house wasn't in Ruckersville. If they'd lived in a big city there'd be enough transient local interest and Christorians could feasibly plan a holiday around going out of state to visit while enjoying the city.

But few people are going to trek for hours to a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, and locals probably won't be interested in that sort of museum (vs a crappy little civil war museum on the site of an old battlefield).

Best case scenario someone at the bank/bailiffs is aware of Chris's meme status and so various items of Christory get auctioned off to collectors. Although I still think that's pretty unlikely or they'll consider the expense of siftting through the rubbish (instead of shoving it all in a skip) to outweigh the amount of money that could be garnered from an auction.
