Chris is not a harmless weirdo man. Chris is a 39-year-old child with only a tenuous connection to reality, few social filters, with unmet sexual frustration and thus is definitely NOT harmless. I think at this point you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone willing to dispute that.
What I was pointing out is that all parties involved probably didn't mean harm to Barb. They might not have even meant any harm to Chris other than setting up a silly autist situation at the con. Whether anyone also wished for Chris to make a complete fool of his/herself, well, the jury is still out. Especially in Kelly's case, but I can totally buy the narrative that Fiona is a confused, frustrated, hypersexed autist potentially with gender or hormone disorders, possibly a troon. I could even buy -- albeit grudgingly -- that Fiona might have considered being a true-and-honest boyfriend-free girl for Chris (though I think on meeting in person this would have rapidly changed).
Grant has shown up like a champ and provided clear info that tracks perfectly with all available information. Kudos to them.
What I'm not buying into is the narrative that Kelly had some grand plan to get Chris to fuck Barb, or that some mystery shadow figure was pulling the strings with everyone to achieve that outcome. That makes for great storytelling (and hey, KF feeds on that stuff), but realistically that strikes me as the most out there explanation when Kelly just being some autist who wanted to create lulz and got in way over her head and then freaked out makes way more sense.
The conversation Kelly had with Chris where Chris spills the beans on his/her degeneracy, well, I could see myself responding the same way because I'd already trained myself to respond kindly to bullshit Chris said, meanwhile gears are spinning in the back of my mind trying to figure out what the fuck to do about it.
