I feel like her dementia isn't nearly as bad as they've claimed.

I recently watched that 59 part series about Chris Chan (I play grindy RPGs, so shit like that is a godsend) and I finished feeling the same way. When she's chilling around the house she does seem pretty demented, but in some of the later scenes where she was in court with Chris, she appeared healthy and together.

Correct me if in wrong, Null mentioned that both Chris and a reliable source said barb was playing it up for the camera to invoke more sympathy. That's all I can remember.

I dont think either of them truly consented, which is one of the saddest things. I think at this point both are too far gone to truly understand what they did, and barbs years of creepy groomy behavior and establishing no healthy boundaries with Chris didn't help.

The problem with dementia is that the effects can vary based on time of day, or due to random factors. So she may be fairly lucid for one video and zoned-out for the next. The fact that she comes off differently at different times is not an indicator that the dementia is played up.

Agreed. I knew old folks with dementia who were absolutely lucid at daytime and totally craycray at night. Some remembered their nightly adventures, others were absolutely delusional about their condition and thought the staff, doctors and nurses were lying to them.
The scary part really is the case when your brain is going in and out of the demented state and you have either no idea what happened (panic) or you can remember exactly what happened but can't explain it to yourself (panic and shame).

So if Barb has dementia, and I think she has had it for a longer time now (edit: was only one year ago. I remember somewhere commenting on how she seems demented what, two years back?) - no one knows if she'll spill the beans or if she was even aware of what happened.

Chris won't be sent to jail. There are people that are less convincing at being clinically labeled "crazy" from state standards and they are still sent to a mental institution instead of prison.
Chris is literally mentally challenged according to US law. He is getting monthly financial support from the government cause he is mentally challenged and unable to self sustain. He is crazy and will be sentenced with that in mind. The judge, the jury, they aren't going to question if he is, or isn't crazy, they aren't going to discuss if the evidences show he is mentally challenged.

The state, the government, already did that for them and according to the US, Chris Chan is mentally impaired, there is no discussion.

I know the meme answer is prison but my guess is he’ll be in a mental hospital for the rest of his life. He clearly can’t function on his own.

I don't think it will be for the rest of his life. He is legally, mentally challenged but he is also high functional. He will be institutionalized for a good number of years, they are going to cut a lot of his privileges (say goodbye to legos and other toy trash) and his internet usage will be heavily monitored.
If Terry Davis wasn't crazy enough to be locked inside an asylum, I doubt Chris Chan will endure such treatment. He is still legally crazy, but he will only go through some years of treatment, sent back to society and be heavily monitor with regular social service visits.

His mother, however, she will suffer the most probably. He will be sent to a senior home and live the last years she has left surrounded by crazy old people and people who don't really care about giving her a proper and dignify last years of life.

My whole YouTube subscription is filled with nothing but Chris Chan. Even people that have no real reason to talk about Christian are talking about him.
There's a guy I'm subscribed to that talks about gardening you know like the proper mulch to use or how to raise certain plants but even he has a video about it.
There's a YouTuber I'm subscribed to that makes candy and even he is talking about it.
Saturday I went to my high school reunion and people there were talking about it.
Just saying this is the most mainstream Chris has ever been I mean by high School reunion for god sakes a place filled with people fat dudes in their 30s and soccer moms were talking about Chris.

I seen my brother last night while we were working on a car and he is not some internet lurker like the rest of us and even he talked to me about it.
