I wondered that too. Tech isn't a bad school or anything, but A&M and UT are the big ones in Texas that people usually come from out of state for, A&M especially for medical shit.

yeah shit's just odd. texas tech doesn't have any remotely worthwhile undergrad programs, can't wrap my head why someone that far away would go

This didn't go the way Kelly and the other trolls expected, not at all. They really thought this was going to be another "wow, that wacky Chris Chan! I can't believe what he's up to now!" saga. Even after it started trending on Twitter, it didn't quite sink in. They did not anticipate the sheer shock and horror, they did not anticipate people openly discussing that this is a horrific crime and looking for others involved. They didn't realize that this is the end of Chris and that there's not going to be a Fiona saga or any other saga. Maybe they didn't realize the gravity of it themselves, maybe they convinced themselves Barb was coherent and willing, I don't know, but somebody has had a lot more time to digest this information than the rest of and came to rather different conclusions about the gravity of it all than we all have in the span of a weekend.

If they were more involved than they are admitting, either by encouraging him or by simply holding on to the information while the abuse continued, it won't matter now. They can't hide the evidence and will be in far more trouble if they try.

I really have to commend Josh for handling this in the best possible way. He tried to help Chris, he gave him the benefit of the doubt, and when it was clear what was going on, he went to the police. He has come out of this looking really good compared to the others, including Ethan Ralph, who tried to butter up a rapist to get some kind of poorly thought out revenge. What the hell.

It is genuinely strange they actually thought Chris raping his elderly mother was just going to be some wacky saga everyone would laugh at
The fact that they obsessively look at Loli rape porn though, i guess it's just been normalized to them they don't see it as a big deal

The bdsm texts are still an unexplained loose end, if I'm not mistaken. All we got from Kelly were some low-res sceenshots of the same few messages. If true, then Chris might really have been working up to some Ed Gein-level shit.
