We find out that innocent people are in prison on an almost daily basis. Even if you're put in jail, you can spend months, sometimes years there, just to be found innocent in court. You've still lost your job, your house, often times your family. Chris has no one, so he'll probably be in jail the duration of his trial. Does anyone reallythink he's too dangerous to be released? I doubt it. I know someone who spent 2 weeks in jail because she made her tenants get rid of their vicious dog, and they made false claims against her. You can go to jail stay there for any reason. It's kinda weird to defend your own subjugation, but I guess we all have to get by somehow.

If he's retarded and they think he's too vulnerable or susceptible to being harmed or tricked, in addition to being a sex offender technically, doesn't that increase his chances of having protective custody? I'm not at all sure how that works so I'm curious if anyone knows. He's largely considered functionable in regular society so even that would be a hard proposition for any defense to try and get considered you would think.
