I have to say it amazes me how many people in this thread don't understand or have an accurate view of the criminal justice system. Its NOT like it is on tv and movies and while there are very specific edge cases where people are sentenced to state hospitals, the majority of offenders are simply stuck into a a for-profit prison system where they are treated like garbage while the prison takes money from the state.

Chris will not have good representation and will therefore not get a good defense. He is poor and his no family that will come to his rescue. He will most likely perjure himself and may end up being held in contempt during the trial (if this goes to trial).

If he IS deemed mentally unable to assist in his own defense he will still end up locked up temporarily in a facility that will eventually rubber stamp his competency to stand trial and he will still end up in prison.
Newfags, the lot of them. They weren't around when Chris went to court over trying to run over Snyder. They weren't around when Chris went to court over spraying someone with mace. Now they come out of the woodwork to give us hottakes about how the legal system is going to handle Chris and none of it makes any sense.

Make no mistake, Chris having raped his elderly demented mom is likely to put his status in prison somewhere around that of a child molester.

I'm not saying Chris will definitely suffer violence in prison, but there is no way anyone can say for sure that he won't.

Even if he doesn't, he is likely to find himself in a situation where not only does the state control most of his actions, but other, stronger inmates control what's left of his freedom. If he lands in non-protective custody, in a facility that has a strong gang presence, he might literally be told when he can eat (i.e, be made to wait until higher status inmates have finished their meals), and/or how to fold his laundry. No one will associate with him socially, because in prison, you are who you run with. And if he is able to draw Sonichu for money, there is a high likelihood that money will be taken. And if the other inmates discover that weens will pay Chris for his "art", they might put him to work so they can take all the proceeds. In prison parlance, Chris will be considered a "lame", or possibly worse.

Prison is full of shitty, frustrated people, who have nothing but time to figure out how to game the guards and weaker inmates. Chris will be taken for whatever people can get out of him, because he is too weak and cowardly to hold his own, and has nothing to offer any group in prison, except his status as a victim.

And to those saying Chris is too fat/ugly/smelly to get raped, know that rape, especially in prison, is a crime of power. Some people might fuck more attractive inmates for pleasure, but rape is often used in prison for punishment. It's not unheard of for sex offenders, especially those who p[rey on the weak and helpless, to be horrifically raped and tortured in prison.

A lot of this has changed with the Prison Rape Elimination Act, which is why I said earlier that it's more coercion and manipulation these days than razor-to-the-throat rape. But, rape still occurs. And because of his crime, Chris' status will be about as low as you can get. If he raped a little old lady who wasn't his mother, that would be bad enough. But his crime will be considered particularly heinous, even by prison standards.

I'm not claiming to know what will or will not happen to Chris. But, his case is all over the news. There will be people in County jail with him right now who end up in prison with him. His crimes will be known. And they will not be the type of crimes that you want to be in prison for, with others knowing why you are there. And this is all before Chris even opens his mouth. Other convicts' opinions of him will only worsen the more they see and learn of him.

Even in the best-case scenario, Chris' life as he knows it is over, and he is not mentally equipped to deal with anything else. He will likely come out of prison, if he survives, far worse than when he went in, mentally.
Chris is going to be bottom bitch on a totem pole of suffering if they put him in gen pop. I don't expect criminals to play by any kind of honor system where Chris is going to be off-limits just cause he's a weirdo. He's a weirdo who did something so unimaginably atrocious and he's such a whiny bitch, that even the meekest buffoon will be able to make Chris' life a living hell.

And to that I say: Good.

Dunno if Chris is remanded, or just too poor to make bail, but I'd enjoy seeing the outcome of someone bailing him out and him jumping to go to Seattle for that pony convention.
They are not going to be letting him out any time soon. He's being held in the wrong jurisdiction so nothing is going to happen until he's transferred to Greene County. They also aren't done charging him.

Exactly, Chris is a delusional schizophrenic who thinks Sonic characters are talking to him. He's going to go where all the other paranoid schizophrenics go- general population. There is no mental ward, prison is the mental ward now. He's going to fit right in next to the guy who stabbed 3 people because he thought the sink was talking to him, and neither of them are going to get any mental health care.
This is hair-splitting (and you know how I love that) but it's probably not schizophrenia, and even if it is schizophrenia, it's not paranoid schizophrenia. I haven't really seen any persecutory delusions from Chris.

Schizophrenia features negative symptoms like lack of emotion, decreased joy or motivation, delayed speech, and difficulty beginning and sustaining activities. Haven't seen those from him lately. In fact, quite the opposite. Molesting his mom has clearly brought him a lot of joy and motivation. That said I don't really know what his diagnosis would be as I'm not qualified to answer that.

My favorite was the idiot who showed up at the house, stripped naked and sat on a barstool to wait, got busted and sent home ("you can keep the towel" ... lol), then immediately went home to arrange another meeting (with another decoy, whoops) and got busted again trying to meet them the next day at a McDonald's.

Sexual predators, especially those who target vulnerable people (i.e. children and the elderly), tend to be mind-bogglingly stupid.

Some end up not getting prosecuted, a couple bonded out and absconded (a couple pajeets did this, I think), a handful copped plea deals that avoided jail time, and all the rest ended up doing time. The latter two groups were all required to register as sex offenders for life and all of them had probation or supervised release after they served their time.

TCAP was done early enough in the internet's mainstream emergence that some jurisdictions didn't really know what the hell to do with it when it came to sex crimes, so it was hit-or-miss as to whether someone was barred from internet access. Not that it mattered much; plenty of them went right back to their old ways (as Chazzed Up mentioned above).

God that was such a satisfying scene. Wangler was such an obnoxious fucktard and richly deserved that unceremonious end.
That was John Kennelly. They weren't working with the police in those times yet, so he didn't even get a slap on the wrist... And I think he exposed himself to little girls at a park afterwards. So take that for what you will.

One of the predators, Donald Morrison, reminds me of Chris Chan so fucking much. Obviously a retard. Spills the beans to Hansen about why he's there and that he has Cheese Pizza on his computer (he took nudes of a 17yo girl) and that, as punishment, his mom should just "take his computer and completely throw it away". In his 40s, too. Oh, and he has a massive grease stain on his shirt.

The punishments varied pretty widely. In one sting the DA basically said fuck it, leave them alone. In another place, one guy that I can't remember got an insane sentence, because he'd had previous crimes. And the sting is nothing compared to what Chris did.
EDIT: It was Michael Wehry, a fucking dumb ass. He got, for his age, what is basically a life sentence.

Chris is going to be come the poster freak for the “unhinged tranny/autist” for years to come. “You know those trannies.. fucking sickos like that Chris guy that rape their elderly moms and shit. You want us to share bathrooms with them?!”.

Ol’ Bob always wanted his boy to make on impact on society. Ya did it, Chris. Ya did it. You’re famous.

Disregarding the whole rape thing and everything surrounding Chris, but 10 years seems a little excessive. Something like incest would demand more reformation than confinement, and I can't imagine someone being better off after 10 years seperated from society.
It's not like being connected to society has ever been healthy for him.

Wouldn't his years' worth of delusions of being persecuted by Megan, The Gameplace, Mary Lee Walsh and PVCC, the various malls he's banned from, the Greene county school board, etc. count as "persecutory delusions"?

Mr. Wehry was maliciously prosecuted for just trying to get a job.

That and for his work on Kindergarten Cop....and some gay porno

Referring to Chris as "Chan," as if "Chan" were his surname, is a new one on me.
Nearly every single news outlet I've seen just assumes Chan is Chris's last name, which shows just how committed journos are to researching things out.

It's kinda funny whenever people say "to any journalists reading this" around here, as if they think any of them is going to bother reading through a 300+ page thread of random spergs calling eachother niggerfaggots to talk about Chris.

They don't really care about Chris or his story, they care that they can use his bizarre appearance combined with the clickbaity issues involved in this in order to make money. Journalism is a tactic, not a profession.

Does Chris qualify as "people" at this point?

I don't really fault the journalists; Chris isn't an ordinary subject, to say the least. It is strange, though. A bit like reading an article about Cedric the Entertainer that keeps referring to him as "Entertainer."

From People Magazine: "A YouTuber known on the internet as Chris Chan — and the creator of the character Sonichu — was arrested on suspicion of incest."

I realize I'm stating the obvious here, but it is so strange to hear People Magazine refer to Chris as "the creator of the character Sonichu." Chris's lifelong brag that he's "the creator of Sonichu and Rosechu the electric hedgehog Pokemon and the city of Cwcville, Virginia!" has finally come true. The world at large acknowledges his accomplishment.
