So, I looked at Blaustein's IMDB page, and was impressed.

I then looked at Julie Rei Goldstein's IMDB page. Pretty good resume. But I noticed something.

So, she's worked with Tim and Eric. I wonder if they're trying to emulate the polarization effect of those two. The only difference, is that T&E don't actively piss people off outside their show. They'd rather their show do the polarizing itself.

* Also, Tim Hiedecker saved an old lady by throwing himself in the path of her attacker, taking several stabbings. Something tells me Hayden wouldn't do the same.

-If the shop wasn't set up as a cash grab, why are there so many reference pictures within it? Dr.Who? South park? Stuff like that. You know, things people actually like. I don't see a need to have all these pictures in first place (And there are quite a bunch of them)
Heck, there are even quotes from the trailer, put into their own pic and put on a T-Shirt. They say it's not made for money, but on the other hand, I feel like they still want to empty the pockets of people over it, before the show comes out and flops. They think they have something and backed this up with a trailer that they felt would come over as progressive and make people want it. The trailer seemed more for the merchendise than the actual show.

This person points out two things. For one, they are not the first to have a trans VA (I still consider Meowth a lead role, but I do know they mean the LEAD ROLE aka, protagonist number one etc) and to the other, that their advertisement solely was building on Shona being trans as a personallity. Note however, that they do not go in on this issue in their reply, only on the VA thing.
Sure, they said before that they " had a 2 minute trailer to explain a multi-layered show with many moving parts. " but if you want to show your character dynamics, what the show is about, then focus on that. And if you focus on unfunny jokes and the fact your character is the "FIRST IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD EVER TRANS LEAD" then something tells the audience, that THAT is what your characters have to offer.
We know nothing about these characters and the jokes won't keep people coming either. Saying you only had two minutes won't help this issue, because the way they spent these two minutes, focusing on the wrong things. (and also bad writing)
Heck, if people wouldn't have asked, we would have never known that these four are gamers who met online and have a secret gamer friend that they all play "Bugs" with. That right there SHOULD have been the focus of the trailer, because then people would've known what the fuck it is about.

When your entire marketing strategy consists of advertising that you have the FIRST TRANS VA IN A LEAD ROLE EVER ad nauseam it's pretty easy for a lot of people to think that you mean first trans VA ever. And let's be real that was exactly what they wanted people to think.

Bonus points for having the black person look like an actual person and not a malformed peanut with Down's syndrome. The more I think about it the more I realize just how fucking awful Cameron's design is.

Yep, that's why he's not verified, it's because he refuses. Totally not because 84% of his followers are fake and he's not really famous enough for it.

The weird thing is, if you go through the characters in the IMDB page, they have some c-, d-list celebrities that have done serious bit parts in crime dramas and what have you. So, unless these people are in on the joke, there's a chance one episode may be aired... somewhere on the web.

Finally managed to read through this entire thread, holy shit.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that Tumblr isn't buying into this shit, considering all the shitty "trans headcanons" and "representation" they shit out on a daily basis. I'd like to say that they're finally learning their lesson, but that'd be way too naive of me.

Then again, with the attitude that's being shown and all the rude snarky responses to even reasonable questions, I can't blame people not wanting to watch this. If you treat your target audience like shit, don't start crying when they don't want anything to do with you.

Good fucking gracious, I've finally read this enormous steaming pile of crap and came to the conclusion that if this is going to get liked by Tumblr, -which I highly doubt-, I will slip into a homemade diabetic coma and will never wake up from it. They also seem to have the social media skills of everyone's grandmother, since they 'like' everything they post on Instagram and Tumblr.

I've added their latest response, which is highly mature for someone who has an IQ-level of under 60.

Speaking of that Tim and Eric piece, here's our LEAD TRANS actress in her totally speaking role:
I have to admit I laughed when Eric was dressing Julie, going "I'm gonna make you a man, honey. I'm gonna make you a man."

I'd rather buy Assigned Male merch. Walk around with the "Some girls have a penis" coffee mug. That would get more laughs.

This show reminds me of Johnny Test where it seems like a bunch of middle aged men got together and brainstormed ideas of what 10 year old boys like and then put it all together in a show with no heart or passion. This is like that except instead of 10 year old boys they brainstormed ideas of things tumblristas like and put it all together with no heart or passion
