N.Y.C. becomes first major U.S. city to mandate vaccination proof for indoor dining, gyms - Escape From New York!

New York City will require proof of vaccination for leisure indoor activities at restaurants and gyms — becoming the first major city in the United States to do so.

Mayor Bill de Blasio made the announcement at a Tuesday morning press conference. The program, also known as the "Key to NYC Pass," will be implemented mid-August during a transition period before it will be fully enforced beginning the week of Sept. 13.

It is time for people to see vaccinations as literally necessary to living a good, full and healthy life," he said. "If you're unvaccinated, unfortunately, you will not be able to participate in many things."

While the mayor said he recognized that "not everyone's going to agree with this," he said the proof of vaccination will be "lifesaving."

Remember NYC Kiwi's, don't get angry at the local shopkeep. Bottle that anger and focus on how to remove De Blasio from power.

The funny thing is that the bullet proof windows only go as far as the counter most companies do not armor underneath the counter where the cheap wood paneling is.
Are you really expecting your average ghetto trash to understand that just because you can't see through it doesn't mean you can't shoot through it? Hell, even the relatively high IQ beautiful people in Hollywood think that a half inch thick particle board table is impenetrable cover. Anyone dumb enough to be willing to rob a 7-11 probably thinks that glass is a form of magic.

Well, they are stupid enough to rob banks instead of the armored car so you are correct. The armored car poses challenges but recon of the armored car teams family is pretty effective, from what I have read at least. Nothing like showing a photo of the drivers wife to get them to open the door.

My post was in response to the dozen or so posts i see in every Brit thread. It's usually "Britain is paki land and is fucked, no freedom" or "this wouldn't happen if you had guns". Yet i see worse shit happen in America; land of the free, home of the guns, and nothing gets done.

You have guns, you have a piece of paper that says "use guns to get government to wind their fucking necks in", it's a God given, American right or something, and yet, nobody is using guns. Nobody. Pussies.
Nigga, you ever wonder why the term Sleeping Giant is used? It's because we'll put up with a lot of bullshit but once you cross the line we suddenly get really fucking pissed. I mean, how long did the Colonies put up with England?

Yeah...how many restaurants will actually enforce this? Unless the people of New York are so cucked (which is likely) that they rat out any restaurant that doesn't bother with it. Guarantee you fast food joints aren't going to be checking.

Where's the line though? Realistically? If they show up at a home, armed, and force a vaccine, how many will go out shooting with the wife and kids in the living room?

Guns and the masks are the same thing in America; they make people feel secure while giving no real protection.

When I was in my very late teens half the bars I went to in NYC didn't even card me, so make of that what you will. I think a lot of less high-end restaurants will care more about their bottom line rather than follow a safety protocol that alienates the unvaccinated 40% of the city, which no matter how you spin it, is still a large potential loss of revenue, and that's not even accounting for all the commuters who come in from Connecticut and New Jersey either.

Museums, concert halls and Yankee Stadium though? That's a different story entirely. You better have a convincing fake to get past security.

I wear a mask because it fucks with surveillance honestly, I might just keep fucking wearing one until they figure out how to get past that. On the other question, you're right in that a lot of npc's will do so with no complaint. But I get the feeling the true believers are dying off with the sheer amount of lies they're expected to swallow as we ride the fucking hill into great depression 2.

This isn't even a sham you can pretend about anymore. All these people who ran out to be a guinea pig are being told "whoops sorry, that doesn't work anymore, don't you feel stupid" and the people who were legitimately stupid enough to vote for Biden are realizing that they got duped hard.

Add that to the "no more normal life for you unless you get a vaccine we literally just said didn't work on delta, which is what we're telling you to be scared of and get vaccinated from RIGHT FUCKING NOW" and yes I think that line is being pushed harder than people with this little power and respect should.

Their only needs to be one brave citizen that feels they have been pushed too far. Perhaps we can get our version of Norwegian Rambo but his target is De Blasio and the guy does not announce his plans.

This places too much hope in the citizenry and of a societal context that has likely already changed. (I.e. the majority of Americans working for themselves, and having roots in a locale going back generations.)

People and societies can change, and also in undesirable ways- for instance, do the people of the post-communist states have the same mentalities and levels of trust as their pre-communist ancestors?

Some of them may not enforce it, but there will still be Karens who rat them out.

Is it constitutional to mandate stuff like this? Sorry if that's a supremely dumb question

PL but I receently had to transfer to FL from a state similar to NY insofar as its restrictions and I've never been gladder

Good luck with that, funny how the rats would rather flee the sinking ship than fight against this with, I dunno, a lawsuit. Speaking of which, where's that "Civil Liberties Union" on this? Oh...

You do understand that the kind of people who say shit like that, don't live in areas that have mandates like this, typically? Right?

It's the 100 years/100 miles phenom, here.

It was 74 or so years from revolution to civil war. It's been 139 years since then. 75 + 75 is 150 years so mathematically it's obvious there's another war coming.

And yes I just made that up.

I actually hope all the people who choose not to get vaccinated die of COVID within the next couple years.
Why would you want people to die? Isn't the point of vaccination preventing deaths?

This new "vaccine" doesn't qualify as a vaccine. It is an experimental, therapeutic medicine that doesn't actually vaccinate because you can still get the virus. Haven't you noticed this?

You're so full of hate and ignorance you should just walk into traffic.

The government can't mandate it because none of these vaccines have actual FDA approval, only emergency use authorization. It is actually illegal for them to be mandated by the government until they are approved. But, a private business can mandate it. That's why you have all these politicians praising businesses for doing their dirty work for them. It is a loophole that they are exploiting.
