Law "I Know It Seems Weird": NIH Director Suggests Parents Wear Masks At Home Around Children - The mask stays on forever

The head of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) suggested Tuesday that parents should wear masks while at home around children even if they don’t have COVID-19.

“It’s clear that this variant is capable of causing serious illness in children. You heard those stories coming out of Louisiana pediatric ICUs, where there are kids as young as a few months old who are sick from this,” Dr. Francis Collins said during a CNN interview, although he admitted that such cases “[are] rare.”

But he added that “anyone who tries to tell you, ‘ah you don’t have to worry about it if you are a young, healthy person,’ there’s many counterexamples.”

“That’s the reason why the recommendations are, for kids under 12, that they avoid being in places where they might get infected, which means recommendations of mask-wearing in schools and at home,” Collins said.

“Parents of unvaccinated kids should be thoughtful about this and the recommendation is to wear masks there as well. I know that’s uncomfortable. I know it seems weird, but it is the best way to protect your kids.”

So far, about 400 children under the age of 18 have died with COVID-19, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

While “studies have consistently shown that children, adolescents, and young adults are susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 infections,” the agency also said, “children and adolescents have had lower incidence and fewer severe COVID-19 outcomes than adults.”

A number of studies, separately, have also shown that children are at an extremely low risk of suffering severe health problems or dying from COVID-19.

A study from July obtained by the Wall Street Journal suggested that a child’s odds of surviving a COVID-19 infection is about 99.995 percent. It also noted there is no evidence yet that the Delta COVID-19 variant causes more deaths or severe illnesses among children.

Last week, the CDC issued an update to its guidance around mask-wearing, saying that vaccinated individuals should wear face coverings in high-transmission areas. The agency also is now recommending that children, staff, and teachers wear masks in public schools regardless of vaccination status.

“If your child is younger than 2 years or cannot wear a mask, limit visits with people who are not vaccinated or whose vaccination status is unknown and keep distance between your child and other people in public,” the agency says in its recent revision.

The CDC, however, does not recommend that people wear masks at home unless they are sick.

This is awful. Kids NEED to see facial expressions to bond with carers, to understand tone, language etc. To mask off parents is to drive another wedge into that bond. It also sends a message to the child that they are dirty.
It’s also completely useless. These people are malevolent.

Once again, lets look at what the numbers CDC are touting, shall we?

Out of a supposed 35.5 MILLION cases in the U.S., only 614K of said cases have ended up lethal. In that case, only 400 out of that 614K ended up being children who died.

THAT'S ONLY 0.07% CDC. WHAT THE FUCK.

They really are determined to destroy a generation of children. I am super excited/scared to see how this group turns out in 10-20 years when they're all adults. Most poorly adjusted, useless generation in history? It's likely.
High rates of mental illness will ensure they become Generation School Shooter.

LOL, if masks have any effect at all they are only (marginally) useful for perhaps catching droplets if you're, say, passing a masked stranger in a hallway who coughs. Take the same masked stranger but stop and talk to him for 10 minutes, and the mask is definitely useless.

I have to wear a mask at work. I am working in an area for 8 hours with other masked people. It's 100% security theater so the company can say they took precautions if someone tries to sue them. It's stupid, but I get why the company is trying to cover their asses.

Masks in the home? Kill yourself.

Most easily controlled by the government and it's institutions. A new slave class if you will

400 is TOO MANY, anti-sciencer!

Pertinent info:
While any death in a child from a vaccine preventable illness is a tragedy, the number of pediatric flu deaths reported to CDC each season is likely an undercount. For example, even though the reported number of deaths during the 2017-2018 flu season was 188, CDC estimates the actual number was closer to 600. It is likely the actual number of children who died from flu during the 2019-2020 season is higher as well.
I'm not denying that Covid is serious, but what are the chances that those 400 deaths also included deaths from the regular flu? Or from bronchitis, pneumonia, RSV, etc? Also just glancing over this article the CDC claims the flu has been rising each year so you better vaccinate your kids! Also, how long has the CDC been fudging/using inaccurate numbers? Long before Covid, I'd say.

I'm not an anti-vaxxer by any means but this does make me go hmm...

I read a manga where people even wear masks in their own homes while eating dinner, how long until we're at that point?
