Thing is, with the tetanus shot, that has proven benefits, has been in use for a very long time, and can prevent something which will genuinely mess you up if you get it. Horrible way to go if you get it. Coof? I'm still of the belief it's mostly nothing for most people.
Last year I had a friend dying from cancer. She had been a long time sufferer sadly and around August she was on her third round of chemo (mostly symbolic to be honest) and was kind of resigned to her fate since she had degenerated to a point where her quality of life was abysmal, she was in constant pain 24/7, and she had resorted to sleeping sitting up since the tumors near her stomach were so large and out of control that if she laid down she couldn't breathe.
Mid-August her husband caught the china virus. Spread it to her. A lot of us, her friends, figured this was it for her. Amazingly she beat the coof, made a recovery from it, and ultimately was done in by her cancer by late september.
Not that I was ever a doomer, but that did really affect how I viewed the plague. I mean, she really was on her last legs with cancer and going for chemo and yet she was able to fight off the coof. Sadly she was very young - in her mid 30s so I don't know if her youth had something to do with her ability to fight it off, but nevertheless she still beat it while on her deathbed and was ultimately killed by her cancer. That really kind of desensitized me to the constant harping from the media and my doomer friends of how "deadly" the china virus was.
