It’s because they’re straight from boot to BUDS a good chunk of the time. Every other service needs you to put a year plus in before attempting to join their spec ops shit.
I thought that you applied for selection after you already had a Rate (or whatever the fuck the Navy calls it) and were allowed to start a class. I think they did this because 90% wash out and the Navy places them back in their old jobs. I'm pretty sure that you can sign up for Ranger directly at the MEPS station but that's the only Special Operations group that allows it. But it's been a few years since I retired so I don't know how it works anymore. Perhaps you just have to declare what gender you identify as or something.

But regardless, this guy sounds like a douchnugget and raised a sadistic retard for a child. I doubt either know anything about consequences.

Thread just hit 2 million views - at this rate it will surpass the original "Chris Chan incest leaks" thread.

Also don't forget how disturbingly crowded it is here right now.

So guys I sent an email to Chris's lawyer that linked to this thread and gave a brief description of Isabella Janke. I know that you guys wont like that I did that, but given the circumstances I wouldn't want his defense to never know about Janke and to not have a chance to consider her in their defense, especially if the only thing im risking is slightly annoying a busy man. Anyways I received a cookie cutter response:

Statement about the prosecution of Christine Chandler While I appreciate your interest in this case, please defer to my judgment about how to handle this case considering my 42 consecutive years practicing in this area of the law. This is not my first well publicized and difficult case. I was assigned off-list because my extensive experience will inform my representation. Under ordinary circumstances, people should not believe everything they learn on the internet. Everything you find there should always be filtered by skepticism that is not pursued enough. This applies even more to somebody who is legally disabled with mental health issues. Ms. Chandler’s frequent and sometimes over the top presence on the internet is partly a product of mental health issues causing misguided attention seeking and often provocative engagement with others. Like almost anything on the internet, it is difficult to determine what is true. These principles hold no matter if you are a supporter, a legitimate journalist, or a trolling hater. Handling difficult court appointed cases is a public service. Representing my client does not involve replying to every interested person contacting me. Legitimate inquiries from journalists, supporters and nuisance trollers will be handled the same way. I have a policy of not commenting about my clients or their cases outside of when court proceedings are conducted. Even then, my statements will be limited to discussing procedural concerns. The criminal justice system is a poor vehicle to help people with mental health issues. There is also a critical shortage of mental health treatment facilities in Virginia. Providing somebody with the help that they need is complicated and will take time. Since viral information spread on the Internet is inherently unreliable, no matter its source, the volume of misinformation about my client and this case makes this a poor place to learn the truth. Mental health issues do not impair someone’s intelligence and artistry. However, these concerns impact behavior. Determining the truth is the job of our criminal justice system. There are few people with actual personal knowledge about what happened. Just because you heard or read something does not make it true. The Commonwealth is represented by a tough but fair prosecutor. I am the Court assigned counsel to represent Ms. Chandler. This case will only move forward and end within the ordinary confines of the legal process. Law enforcement is not limited to gathering evidence to support guilt. Only those few people with actual personal knowledge about the people involved and the facts of what happened should come forward. If you have reliable information or evidence that is helpful to the defense, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office has the duty to collect it and pass this along to me. They made this public statement: “Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Jason Tooley at (434) 531-0866.” Completing their ongoing investigation and the ethical implementation of the legal process are my only concerns as seasoned defense counsel.

And this shouldn't need to be stated, but do not contact Chris's lawyer. He doesn't care about you and will not comment on Chris's case. Please don't annoy him any more
Don't try to be a hero. Our role is to observe, not act.

Army lets guys try out for SF and RR straight out of basic.

With SEALS, so much of the selection process is just straight-up PT studdery (they don't even touch weapons until they're like four months into training) that the whole thing just turns into a frat whenever there isn't a war going on, like almost all of Janke's service period.
I thought it took a year for Army to apply for shit like SOAR. Rangers and para are just specialized infantry, so being able to apply off the bat isn’t too surprising.
