How can both of these be true? In the US nearly 100% of hospitalizations are unvaxxed, but in countries with high vaccination rates the opposite is shown.

In Israel almost all hospitalizations are of the vaccinated. Also seeing similar rates of hospitalization in the UK and other countries that are highly vaccinated.

But here in the US I found an endless number of news stories with a quick search for "unvaccinated being hospitalized". this one in particular stood out because of the claims that 100% of patients are unvaccinated. Maybe it's because smaller town, or just more brazen lying?



Another local story with similar claims out of South Carolina, this one says that it's hard to find a single patient in the ICU that's been fully vaccinated.

Because in the US, your stats lump people with only one vaccine in with unvaccinated, and people who don't declare if they're vaccinated or not, too.

Brazil has favelas where people live cheek to jowl. Nigeria is the same. People living 10 to a 'house'. Japan, one of the most densely populated areas on planet Earth, at least in the major cities.

I've heard Brazil has pretty good healthcare for the rich. I might be very wrong about that. But still, the poor in the favelas, do they even qualify for healthcare. You'd imagine a plague would spread like wildfire through there. Ditto Nigeria. Not sure about that either but I'd be surprised if they have great healthcare for the average poverty stricken Nigerian.

Japan has great healthcare I'm sure, for most people. Don't know. But I feel fairly safe in assuming that. Still, really fucking densely populated areas in the major coastal towns.

Are more people dying here in these countries even though we are less densely populated? OK, UK is pretty densely populated. 1) Young populations (excluding Japan) with extremely low rates of obesity. People living in slums are too poor and face too many dangers to get frail enough for covid to kill them, and they're too poor to get fat enough for covid to kill them. Anyone in that situation who'd be high risk has probably already died of something else. Japan does have a lot of old people but they don't have a lot of metabolic and obesity related illnesses, which are up there with age in terms of risk and even most old people who die have something else wrong with them. Nigeria is also near the equator, they get a lot of natural sunlight there which is the environment black people evolved to thrive in. A Nigerian person who's lived there their whole live won't be wildly vitamin D deficient, whereas a person of Nigerian descent who's lived in Canada their whole life would be unless they take supplements.

2) As much as everyone likes to cry about racism and privilege, no one cares when poor non-white people in distant countries die. Disasters and terrorist attacks in third world countries rarely get much news time unless a few Westerners got caught up in it.

Anecdotal report from France, where the passport takes effect for restaurants on Monday but is already in effect for dance floors. Last night (Friday night) I was at the largest, most popular guinguette (summer-only resto, bar, and dance hall, 100% outside) in the region. Typically It is packed all night, every night for the whole season. We were allowed to eat and drink, but dance floor was with vax QR code only.

The place was half full. All night. On a Friday.

Someone else also said Melatonin. Wife took melatonin and was fine, Husband got covid. How much do you take? The under the tougue version?

I usually took a powder mix that was dissolved into water, now I take a cheap supplement from the supermarket which is just a capsule. I don't think I've seen that under the tongue version at the stores.
I just take the dose that aids sleep which is the recommended one, 1mg if I remember correctly. If you double dose it I think it has the opposite effect and will keep you awake, so I don't do that.
