I never got what was so good about LTT. Occasionally there will be an interesting video, but for the most part, it struck me as an average channel at best. Gamer's Nexus is a much better channel overall, IMO.

They have some good topics and solid information, but it feels like you are watching a 15-minute commercial (or infomercial, if you will).

Well, the sex change shit might not be the case, assuming Byuu wasn't lying about that part. Didn't he say that he cut ties with the troons and that he never really was one? If that is true, it could be possible that he really offed himself, but that being a result of the DIY HRT bullshit.

Nah, that's not how it works.

The new developers 'forked' the Ares repository, which means both existed in parallel (this keeps the commit history). They didn't have access to Nears one (under the account 'ares-dev'), which means either Near or Microsoft/GitHub deleted the repo.

His other projects (bsnes and higan) have been in the control of others for quite awhile, whereas the ares one hasn't been.

Or he just lied to cover his tracks better. Once he came up with a plan to fake his death he realized it was stupid to have announced he was trans if his plan was to use trooning to hide his identity after his tragic demise.

If my plan was to fake my suicide and then change my legal name and sex to hide, I’d certainly backtrack on saying I was trans or transitioning so that people wouldn’t be as likely to snoop around for a new name and identity.

Surely Microsoft/GitHub wouldn't delete a repo without some type of approval? And if for whatever reason they did (on behalf of the new Ares team), why wouldn't they delete the rest?

There's an archived version from June 7th. Also, on his GitHub profile you can see that he changed his picture.

He probably did this before vanishing, though I can't imagine why.
