That’s something I certainly considered while thinking about this. My main thoughts are that either many of the bad “real life” things she’s claimed to have done didn’t actually happen and are just for reactions, or that despite doing many physical things in real life, she still has a mental separation in that she obviously talks openly about these things online whereas you know she wouldn’t talk about these things to an every day Joe on the street.
I think to even a small degree everyone has some capacity for remorse, they may just typically have a greater capacity for copium.

I mean, they're not gonna be pleased with her. But serious trouble? Probably not.

Texas and Virginia both have similar laws on lying to cops in the course of an investigation - the statement needs to be materially false. Lies by themselves aren't enough. Simplified, materially means the lie has to matter to the course of the investigation - and remember, this investigation isn't of her. It's of Chris. So lying about herself isn't material unless it somehow also influences the investigation into Chris i.e. lying about whether she had a call with Chris where he admitted to incest.

I suppose you could argue for federal involvement if she did it over the phone, but the federal law only covers lies to federal officers about federal matters.

Which is lucky for her, because the federal crime is a felony whereas in both Virginia and Texas it's a misdemeanor.

I know everyone wants her to face legal justice. I don't blame them. But the chances that the Virginia and Texas authorities go through all the b.s. involved in figuring out where to prosecute her, then if it's Virginia getting an extradition done etc...for a misdemeanor cause she lied to a cop...are fairly remote. People lie to the cops all the time and very rarely do actual charges come of it unless there's something else and then sometimes it gets tacked on in the same way as you might tack on a resisting arrest to whatever you were arresting them for if they resist.
