I think you're underestimating her complete lack of planning and foresight. This thread probably realized her scheduling conflict way before she did.

If she really wanted to put it off she could have had her attorney file for a postponement. There's a ton of different ways to push a court date back for whatever reason -- that's why people with money almost never have warrants for not appearing. Even if the person is a tard, a good attorney will be keeping track of schedules and proactively push back the date if their client is unreachable for some reason.

Getting railroaded through the system with no respect for their schedule is what happens to people who have overworked public defenders. (Even then, if they are not a tard and engage with their PD effectively, they can still get accommodations)
