Possible. From what I understand the school is going to want to not lend credibility to the fact that they let this happen. And they have a history of covering up this kind of thing.

The Zetas are probably the most famous/blatant example of military involvement in drugs. A bunch of US and Mexican special forces decided to go rogue and start up their own cartel and dominated the Mexican coke trade for a while.
