I might be wrong about this, because it's been a while since I've read "Homage to Catalonia," but I believe that when Orwell arrived in Catalonia he basically just signed up for a militia the first chance he got, and that militia happened to be the POUM.

Oh man, I'd forgotten that bit. Orwell is a funnier writer in his memoirs and essays than he is in his fiction. You know, way too many people read "Animal Farm" and "1984" and leave it at that. I think that's part of why so many people treat Orwell as a generic anti-authoritarian.

Angry tweets aside, I find it funny that ever since the book he wrote about Antifa came out, most of their terminally online members are still sperging about him while using strawmanned like arguments that hold no weight.

Not even the current Dems want to pull the trigger on expelling a member of Congress, save for something insanely heinous.

It sets an absolutely lethal precedent to eliminate opposition, and it's basically treating the state voters that sent that representative with contempt. Which is a great way to take another step towards civil war.

Some of them do want to, but the cynical non-koolaid-drinking ones like Pelosi and Schumer are desperately pumping the brakes on that because they know what it will cost them. Right now they're teetering on a precipice of rhetoric where they've created an enemy but can't let their followers try to destroy it the way they told them to.

Every time I see some leftists throw the word fascism around to everyone they disagree with even after years of debate on what fascism is, I always wonder if they are retarded or arguing in bad faith.

I’m picturing a mental image of Antifa members acting like Oprah during her TV days where instead of her screaming, “YOU GET A CAR! YOU GET A CAR! YOU ALSO GET A CAR”, it’s just Antifa members yelling, “YOU’RE A FASCIST! YOU’RE A FASCIST! YOU’RE ALL A BUNCH OF FASCISTS!”

You know, I was listening to a recent episode with a black martial artist who uses martial arts to help young men and boys develop emotionally, which is incredibly important in a society where masculinity and fatherhood are so decimated—especially in black communities. Now imagine my shock when "jenmonkey is an abolitionist" tells me that black guy from Detroit is a white nationalist whose ideas are just being laundered through Rogan!

I guess it's true that leftists want to destroy the idea of the capable, confident, and self-reflective male whereas those on the right want men to be healthy, so it makes sense why they are so triggered by a black guy saying guys need help.
