I think this misses the crucial component of Chris's current state of profound delusion.

If you're skeptical of Chris's own belief in the merge and all of that other shit he's been talking about for the past few years then you probably won't find any of this persuasive, but I personally believe that Chris is very sincere when he talks about being a beautiful female deity who is about to facilitate two universes combining through his immense psychic energy or whatever the fuck.

I think Chris's view of the world is so utterly, comprehensively distorted at this point that he can justify nearly any impulse he has. He believes he has access to greater wisdom than normal people, and he believes himself to be literal divinity. The calm demeanor Chris displayed through the process of being arrested and booked and photographed is downright unnerving, imo, and is just more evidence of how completely out of touch he really is these days. He thinks he's in control. He has no fucking idea how bad his life is about to become.

So I don't think you can apply normal paradigms of social expectations, or normal paradigms of morality, or normal paradigms of understanding right and wrong. Chris is broken and crazy beyond all of that.

I don't think Chris maliciously raped Barb as some sort of sociopathic act of selfishness. When he says it was helping to heal her brain and bring her pleasure and allow their souls to combine, I think he actually believes all of that. I couldn't even guess how strongly he believes any of it, but I think he believes it strongly enough to justify his actions to himself.

I'm not of the opinion that Chris needs to be locked up as punishment for his actions, but I think Chris's actions prove that Chris needs to be locked up for the safety of himself and for the safety of people in his vicinity.

Regardless of Chris's actual level of cognition on reality, he did assault Barb. I don't buy it, that it wasn't motivated by his base sexual urges. He had an opportunity, a motive, and an easy victim, which is the same reason I would never trust Chris with the care of children or vulnerable adults. He has never shown himself to have good impulse control or be an actual moral character from his many past failures.

He admitted in the email to Null about his girlfriend that he considered it past any judgements. (To be fair it could have been interpreted as an age thing, but knowing what came after clearly has a deeper meaning.)

Any justification that he might have used in his head to make it right doesn't mean that it wasn't a moral wrong which Chris having been raised in the church would have known is wrong. Whatever his justification for having done so, he did it. It will be up to the judge and mental health professionals how best to proceed.

I personally think that the courts won't throw the book at him, and he will end up in some adjusted living situation where his life is much more regimented than it has been in the previous years, whether that is a facility like the kind they put pedo's in. A low security facility. (I say this because dependent on the states facility, they cannot put him in general population, it would be a death sentence. They cannot put him in a female prison, considering the sexual assault charges likely to be pressed, and since he is qualified as a vulnerable adult himself, the state will likely take this into account.)

I don't think he merits institutionalisation because that essentially in the right cirmcumstances is a life sentence, but he will definitely be forced to attend therapy sessions and live a more regimented lifestyle. He might come out of this in better mental health as a result.

I never said it wasn't motivated by sexual urges. It absolutely, obviously was. If Chris wasn't horny he wouldn't have had sex with Barb, period.

But I don't this it's as simple as Chris running around with his dick out looking for a hole to fuck, or sitting in his bedroom pondering "hmm, how can I rape my mother?" while rubbing his hands together in a sinister way. What I suspect happened is that Chris wanted to fuck Barb, knew it was wrong, but worked backwards from there ... through delusional, tortuous logic he found what he considered to be satisfactory justification for having sex with his mother. Thus he was able to proceed with a clean conscience. Even if Barb was resisting and telling him no, he was able to reassure himself that he actually knows what's best for her.

Of course it was a moral wrong. Nobody is arguing that it isn't. And of course Chris was raised to know this. But Chris has since disavowed countless things he was taught. Chris was raised as a Christian, yet every other word out of his mouth these days is blasphemy. Chris was taught that homosexuality is wrong and sinful and disgusting, yet now he claims to be bisexual.

Chris began defining his own morality ages ago. He's been sliding down this slippery slope in plain sight. And to some extent everyone does this. Everyone eventually questions the things they were raised to believe. Some moral principles will be discarded, some will stick. The problem is that Chris is attempting to calibrate his moral compass against a very diseased brain.

I don't know much about law but I would think that graduating with an Associates Degree in CAD demonstrates some level of mental capacity for understanding. If he did just slide by it would be the ultimate karma if it is a deciding factor in the trial.

See I am quite the opposite, I think this may be the only time where he does get sent to a legit prison, will it be as harsh as regular inmates? Possibly not, but he will get throw in there especially since he doesnt have enough on his side for the insanity plea nor will he be able to play off the pity for his autism like he did with Snyder. Now, I do not HOPE it happens, but something tells me it will happen. Again he is most likely going to be put in a corner of said prison with mentally ill inmates, but I think the court will decide that he was more than cognitive enough to understand what he did was wrong. Hell I dont even think they'll truly believe that he believes this shit about the merge and dimensions, they could just fob it off as a man TRYING to act insane.
