afaik dream is a huge fan of PewDiePie and the only thing he tweeted was a positive tweet telling his fans not to go at him. the seed stuff has also been talked about by dream himself and other people on the team, dream had the original idea to find the seed and that is how he got involved he also had permission from the leaders of "The Monkeys" (i think that is what the team was called) to post the seed and advertise there stream. everything i have seen points to some members of the team that helped find the seed being salty that they did not get half the attention that dream did for clickbaiting it which is fair enough

Basically this. IIRC, the big issue that the average joes had with Dream was the fact that they thought he was making money in the process of doing covering the topic. SalC1's apparently got a similar reputation among the seedfinding community after his coverage of the Pack.png, Title screen, and Zetterstrand painting seeds.

Funny enough, because Dream didn't have Adsense set up at the time, he didn't earn a penny for a bulk of the views those videos got.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It was possible to look up his name and messages as recently as a couple of months ago.
