RWBY - The Hindenburg on which Rooster Teeth rests its hopes, dreams and future

It'll never be not funny that the best written and most expressive character in RWBY is the one seemingly struck by mutism.
When you don’t have dialogue, you gotta get creative and find other ways to emote and give info. Buffy The Vampire Slayer had an entire episode around that.

That sounds beyond autistic, then again this is RWBY we're talking about so maybe I should've expected it to be puzzle pieces given literary form.
Neo’s a pretty blank slate honestly. Pretty much anything can be done with her.

I think the fact that she's far more expressive than the rest of the cast and not fleshed out as a character is the reason she's my favorite. She's just this sassy little shit and you can pretty much project any sort of origin story onto her that you want.

You think that was by design? I mean, her literal character is “the muscle/competent henchman”. It was part of why Roman took off, and it’s why she was paired with Cinder (aka “Discount Azula”).

Preview for the Neo book is out: https://www.kobo.com/in/en/ebook/rwby-ya-novel-3-an-afk-book-rwby-3

Neo wasn't always Neo, she starts off as a rich kid, Trivia (who I think is 8 years old in this), who's illusion semblance gave her an imaginary friend called Neo.

Young Torchwick has a pony tail.
Goddamn it, why is every villain's backstory in this show either either "rich asshole", "abused by parents", or a combination of both?

I mean, Harley Quinn was meant to be a one-shot henchwoman for the Joker, but everyone ended up liking her, so she got more screentime and a deeper backstory. It only makes sense that this show has a "Discount Harley Quinn".

I don't think the character with a Mr. Fantastic Semblance can reach as far as this.

He designed Neo because he didn't want to animate them getting into a helicopter thing. How do people keep forgetting this???
I could've sworn I saw the photo of the cosplayer in an interview. The helicopter part was what became her semblance (Monty adding more shit because it looks cool again then making the reasons later). Making a whole new character model to avoid a climbing animation is the exact opposite of making less work for yourself.

I mean, this is cute and all, but Summer would be the step-mom, since she came after Raven. (Also, I feel like this was made by someone who is also unironically a Disney Adult)

I'd also like to bring up the fact that marrying into royalty and telling your former tormentors to go get fucked after they mutilate their own feet and are embarrassed and disgraced in front of said royalty isn't a case in which you are the defeated party.
