AWL’s reason of getting rehired because of her public disdain towards the Netflix dub makes no sense when the person who translated the show and movies on Netflix also translated the Rebuild movies. Also, let’s be frank, her “role” in the Weeb Wars didn’t have anything to do with it, because then why didn’t she get cast in the Funimation dub and why has she barely done any VA work for the past few years?
The only reason she probably got hired has probably more to do with Khara just finding anyone to replace Palencia after purging most of the Funi cast and she saw this as an opportunity to jump in the parade. And when they saw her work for ADV, they probably thought “Fuck it. Let’s just bring her in.” She’s also friends with Spencer and presumably Grant, so that probably played a part in it too.

If Khara know how much an advocate for Marijuana she was, they would 100% demand a re-dub. This isnt even speculation. Japan hates drugs. Celebrities (Even Japanese BIG name celebrities) get re cast for even having the smallest affiliation with drugs.
