I used to think the Afghan War/Iraq War could be worth it. I still think we could have salvaged something if we had the guts and we didn't do the occupation in the absolute dumbest way imaginable (trying to turn it into some Middle Eastern Seattle). But we don't have the guts and we did do it the dumb way so I guess thats the same as believing it is completely unsalvageable and a waste of time.

They're a different people and culture satisfied with their lives of child brides and tossing gays off rooftops. And suddenly here we come galloping out of nowhere uninvited into their home pouring hundreds of billions upon them trying to transform desert suicide bombers into uptalking Starbucks sipping gender nonconformist millennials. And in case you think I'm joking thats literally what happened. Theres particularly dumb episodes such as when they bribed Afghans with our tax money to run around waving feminist banners. But also the broader just as ridiculous efforts to suddenly forcing Western style voting, conventions, and gender neutrality on a distant foreign culture.

So maybe intervention is wrong. Or maybe if you still insist on intervention you should do it intelligently like the Chinese or modern Romans. Do it the smart way with strategy and perhaps get something for your troubles in the meantime. Don't charge in as some idealistic moron with the vague goal of bringing 'freedom' or perhaps 'gender equality' today.

So congrats early 2000s libs I guess you were right and Republicans/Shrub II were wrong in this instance and the 'bullets and social justice' strategy was a flop. I wonder how many of you will remain doves once the videos of the transgender villagers being burned at the stake start surfacing on Liveleak.

Nah, the OG Stingers we delivered in the 80s were worked to have the motors burn out after so many months, precisely in the event of a situation like this.

I've just seen reports of rumors of individuals here and there being killed. Nothing like what ISIS had been doing
