Biden was better off saying at his presser that the war is over, time to leave. Doing stuff to own the Trumpers bit them in the ass.

Own culture, not even once. Gotta put lives at risk to own the other side lol.Biden was better off saying at his presser that the war is over, time to leave. Doing stuff to own the Trumpers bit them in the ass.
NGOs get what they fucking deserve. There's not really any way to know. Governments can tell you about military personnel and diplomats but actual civilians like humanitarians, business folks, journalists and danger tourists are more difficult to track, especially if they went in through other countries.
Multiply this by the total number of Western countries and it's sheer chaos. Could be anything from a few hundred to tens of thousands.
And the ensuing clusterfuck resulting from sending our boys and girls into the hot zone without any kind of plan is going to cause a serious upheaval back home, especially with how many people are wound up and pissed off about the continuing COVID lockdowns and mandates and the 2020 election fuckery. So question, does anyone think that a renewed US intervention is possible? The appetite seems to be there-if not amongst the general public, we have everyone from NPR to John Bolton wailing up about how the Taliban are going to oppress women and terrorists will return and whatever.
Even now, 5,000 troops have been sent or will be sent to Kabul. Maybe I'm just cynical, but it seems to me the US might just re intervene and keep the government from falling, because to do otherwise is simply too much of an L for both the government and our ruling classes to take.
Too late for that now. The Taliban control 95% of the country so to intervene now would mean to re-invade from scratch.intervene and keep the government from falling,
There might appetite now, but I doubt any pollie wants to be the representative responsible for extending what is basically Vietnam 2 and re-entering a forever war without support from other coalition partners. Afghanistan is said to be the graveyard of empires, and extending US intervention there without any real plan for 'nation building' is only going to hasten the decline of the US Empire. So question, does anyone think that a renewed US intervention is possible? people right now are asking for a intervention. in a month when the bodies start piling up... people would hate it again. Biden and the CIA, military etc fucked this up royally as they had the opportunity for a far more gracious exit plan. even if it just meant maintaining Bagram airforce base too ensure a safe and orderly exit for Embassy staff etc.So question, does anyone think that a renewed US intervention is possible? No, there will not be any renewed intervention. Not even if the talebans start deadnaming troons. So question, does anyone think that a renewed US intervention is possible? The US military has basically purged itself of the kind of men that can win them wars. They attracting cannon fodder and concerned with trannies and gay shit.So question, does anyone think that a renewed US intervention is possible? Yeah twitter was actually pretty fuckin' based for most of the day, and then I guess they got their orders because suddenly the only thing you could see was a bunch of blue check shills with mental-wheels-a-spinning working out how this is somehow Trump's faultToo late for that now. Much easier for the rulers to cluck about how it was all Trump's fault and something something Handmaid's Tale
Attempting to own bad orange man is more important than something so trivial as a historically significant humiliation of the US, didn't you know?Yeah twitter was actually pretty fuckin' based for most of the day, and then I guess they got their orders because suddenly the only thing you could see was a bunch of blue check shills with mental-wheels-a-spinning working out how this is somehow Trump's fault

On the other hand, seeing such a huge number of organic comments being dismissive and celebratory was rather whitepilling.
It's a shame the AP isn't publicly crediting the photographer, he might have more war photography and filmography in his portfolio for all we know.View attachment 2447824View attachment 2447853
Its an AP pic not some rando twitter shot. Its to kino a shot not to be everywhere tomorrow.

Those 5000 troops wont do shit now but get trapped there. To late.
It doesn't have the same ring of desperation as Saigon did.View attachment 2447824View attachment 2447853

Trump's plan included a treaty ensuring things would go more smoothly, Biden violated the treaty so it went to hellHas anyone got a good breakdown on if Trump's withdrawal was planned any differently? I just see people going, "But it was Trump's plan, it'd have been worse if they left on May 1st."
I read somewhere that when Biden didn't stick to that May 1st date the Taliban then just started conquering. Was that just always going to be the day they started to retake the country?
Ironic, considering how chaotic it's been with western nations scrambling to send in evac teams for their own citizens/personnel/refugees after they didn't have the foresight to have any sort of contingency plan in place. It doesn't have the same ring of desperation as Saigon did.
