Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I think it’s going to get worse for Biden beyond Afghanistan. Depending on that Delta variant and economic anxiety, I could see Biden’s term becoming the most despised and most hated term since Bush’s second term. And I remember how much hate Bush got from 2005-2009.

I knew Biden was going to fail at being a Obama copy, but I never expect him to make Obama more component.
we might even have a crisis of confidence in our government and a malaise will fall over america...

imagine being Taiwan right now, I'd be shitting bricks if I were them, their independence, their culture and freedom depend on whether or not the US military is able to stand up to China
That is a pathetic state of affairs and summarizes most of what I hate about American foreign policy. If you cannot determine your own fate, your destiny is one of irrelevance. The Taliban were able to determine their fate and get the outcome they wanted; and we knew this 20 years ago.

"The Americans have all of the watches but we have all of the time."

The presence of America in many of these conflicts only serves to prevent a conclusion and prolong suffering. If Taiwan wants to be free, Taiwan needs to fight for it. That is not America's problem. And I promise you that the Chinese are going to find themselves in the Americans' shoes when they start playing games with Taiwan. It's not going to go the way they desire, even if they don't play by the same rules as their American counterparts. That island is packed to the gills with weapons and angry N

I think Scott Adams said once that the Chinese absorbing Taiwan would be a perilous two-way street. China would change Taiwan, but Taiwan would also change China. And the CCP might not be prepared to handle that.

I'm unsure, if no other major disasters occur under his watch then people might forget about this whole thing. Bush was hated for me most of his second term cause the forever war in the Middle East was constant throughout his term, so everyone could point to that and bitch about it. Biden can just point to the fact that he was the one that got out of that hell hole and point to Trump for making a bad deal or the ANA for being cowardly bitches that just rolled over for the Taliban.

Of course, as Obama said never underestimate Joe's ability to fuck shit up. I'm fairly convinced that this is just the first in a line of failures, but I'm feeling that this might be the most significant cause of just how bad it turned out. The comparison pics to Saigon alone are gonna be tied to him in the history books forever.

China won't dare risk something proper until it can be assured the U.S. is actually toothless.
And for what it is worth, the US is not. So China will likely be waiting a long time. Taiwan isn't worth going to war over; it would be like the Soviet Union risking war with America over some bumblefuck place on the other side of the globe like Cuba.

The silver lining in all this is I can't see the dems getting four more years, and there will probably be a lot of change over in 2022. People are pissed like never before. Economy, covid, CRT, and now Afghanistan. The vast majority of the population despises all this clown bullshit.

I was born in ‘96, but I would want to know just how as shitty Carter was as Biden is.
get got elected into office in a time of high inflation. OPEC refused to increase oil output causing the oil crisis. gas prices skyrocketed. Inflation greatly outpaced wage growth. everyone had to nickel and dime their way through life. then a nat gas shortage caused most schools to close during the winter because they could not afford to heat the buildings. tens of thousands lost their jobs. the gas shortage was so bad that rationing was implemented in several states. He told americans to set their thermostat on 55 degrees in the winter and to wear sweaters to safe on energy. he also raised taxes on gas to discourage use.

On the foreign policy side he was a dove to the soviet union want did peace talks but also approved the B1 and B2 stealth bombers a hostile act towards the soviet union. Carter was surprised at the suddeness of the soviet invasion of Afghanistan. His worst foreign policy blunder was the Iran hostage crisis. He could not manage to save the hostages in his term. His rescue mission failed badly and he could not escape the loss of confidence inhis leadership from that crisis.

My question is, what happens when we're entirely out of political and moral credibility? What other superpower will the weary European philosopher-kings turn to for moral clarity and wisdom? They'll say anything and do nothing, and this really isn't much more than grimly amusing.

IMHO, Biden will need to fuck up in a way that affects Americans' kitchen tables (which are already precarious as is) to truly doom the Dems.

Afghanistan, for all the emotion tied up in it, is "over there". It only very remotely affects Mr. and Mrs. America. This whole trainwreck will be forgotten by this time next week.

Asking for the NPCs to suddenly break the conditioning over this is asking for a miracle. There is no Sleeping Giant about to awaken. Most people are lemmings who will believe whatever the man in TV tells them.

Thing is, even the most competent of people can have a once-in-a-blue-moon fuck-up among an ocean of success...but when the person in question is barely a sentient human being (or a cackling hyena), then we're more in the realms of a once-in-a-blue-moon success among an ocean of fuck-ups.

What of them? Most people will just let the Cathedral shit in their mouths, and thank them for the privilege.
Most people on the TV maybe. I interact with the public everyday and all i hear is complaints about prices going up and complaints about masks and restrictions. there are bad shortages of goods these days. we have empty shelves and it is starting to get into the food goods. right now its only the name brand stuff. Gatorade and pepsi and so on but as it gets worse people will blame the administration. they always do. Politicians cannot escape the economy.

...and yet he let Malia intern for Harvey Weinstein...

Weinstein would have been 20 different flavors of dead if he tried anything and he knew it. Remember the #1 rule of people at the top: Touch my kid and I’ll end you. Part of the reason why Hunter Biden can escape justice is this exact rule being enforced when everyone and their grandma really don’t want to, but can’t risk their kids down the line.

Twitter checkmarks have Joepedo’s nuts firmly in their mouths, causing “Mr. President” to trend with fawning tweets praising the Joetato’s “honesty and courage”

Remember a year ago when these same people said that President Trump was betraying his military and our allies by attempting to conduct an orderly withdraw and meeting with the Taliban leadership to figure out an answer? You may have forgotten because of concurrent acts of sabotage from the American professional managerial class that are currently spilling their spaghetti all over the Middle East.
