Taliban offensive of 2021 and collapse of Afghan government.

Our military is retarded, we left it behind because it would have been "too expensive" to bring home and would be cheaper to just replace
That is the legitimate bean-counter logic at the Pentagon, though - if it costs more to crate up old material, move it onto a plane/ship, have it return home from overseas, and then get overhauled/serviced and then subsequently put into storage than it is to buy brand new stuff, they'll leave it there. That's why at the end of the Vietnam War we left the South Vietnamese Air Force with more transport and COIN aircraft than they could ever use themselves, and why at the end of World War II we were dumping trucks, jeeps, and entire crates of supplies and ammunition right into the Pacific rather than loading them back up onto ships for transport.

Good luck with that shit...
He's likely just hoping that he'll somehow get a bone thrown to him by the Taliban, which might not be a bad political move for the Taliban.

He gives a public endorsement of the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.
Taliban gives him a staff position and ignores him having worked with the US.

I don't believe they want that scenario to take place. They want to ostracize MAGA Americans from society, and eventually break them into compliance via a combination of terror and various incentives(e.g. your children won't be on the streets).

The media(in the weeks and months following Jan 6) spent a lot of time talking about deradicalization-that is psychological conditioning/breaking to change dissidents' beliefs.

What they’re going to do is ostracize MAGA folks from society and render them helpless-and then make the promise "go through our de rad programs and come out sucking BLM cock, and you might be able to see your kids graduate college or find some sort of job, and you might get some sort of re acceptance into mainstream society".

If they have to fire on them-that means the above efforts will have failed, and then all bets are off.

My greatest concern is the above efforts will succeed-at least partially, because too many right wing dissidents have stuff to lose-jobs, social acceptance, kids to feed, etc... and that is the greatest power the state has over them, not bullets.
Have you looked at a map that shows red and blue in this country? You're all highly overestimating how many people would be willing to fight 80% of the country in guerilla warfare for space Communism.

Especially now, who the fuck is going to listen to Biden? Even the media turned on him. The twitter response is nothing. The npc programming is all fucked up. What are they going to rally on, all you have to say is "Afghanistan."

Yeah, I am pretty sure they don't give a fuck about his public endorsement, besides, they did pretty good on their own so far...if it ain't broke, don't fix it...like we tried to do.

I think this was missed earlier. Nobody cares about this dude though, lol.
gotta give it to him at least he didn't run and instead looked to negotiate with the Taliban for a peaceful and official transition instead of outright bailing at the first sign of trouble, should had put this guy in charge

Anyone seen the amount of posts of leftists calling American right wingers "White Taliban"? really funny stuff View attachment 2452412
I remember when they were called "Y'all Qaeda" when some guys occupied some nature preserve.
Bold prediction: muh veterans won't do shit

As is tradition.
And then "doing something" continues to be romanticized by the /pol/ types. Things are gonna get really ugly and bad for hea;th, aren't they?
> kneejerk
It's anything but kneejerk. If this had happened even six or seven years ago, most of /pol/ would not be supporting the Taliban.
I mean, you got people on /pol/ who think Trump didn't do enough or go far enough when he was President. You think /pol/ would cheer another 9/11 type event if it happened?
Yes, Sunni and Shi'a don't always get along. However, as of late, Iran and the Taliban have allegedly been working together. They care more about battling American influence at the moment
...AAAAnd now I'm worried. It's one thing to battle American influence, but get that much hatred of somebody together....it's a bad day when someone sees retaliation as the time to collect their rewards in the afterlife.

I have almost no desire to nation build. Screw the Middle East and especially Saudi Arabia. I hope Iran topples them for regional supremacy.
And if that happens, I think we could kiss America goodbye. I mean, it's a group that can tolerate America vs a country whose legislators chant "Death To America" and has policies referring to America as "The Great Satan". Hell, If Iran had evidence that the Saudi government had a hand in 9/11, I'm willing to bet they won't share it because they don't want to help their eternal mortal enemy.

So the US has flown out 700-ish people in the last 24 hours, including just 165 US citizens.

Meanwhile, they've brought 1000 troops in.

Funny kind of evacuation, where you end up with more people in the country at the end of the day.

The new government of Afghanistan has given a two-week timespan for governments to retrieve their citizens. While the US claims they'll be evacing 5-9k US citizens and foreign nationals per day, this is an incredibly ambitious goal when you're sending up C-17s with about 100 people on each one. A typical high-volume airport runway sees 200-ish takeoffs per day, but somewhere like Kabul doesn't see anything close to that level of action. With 40-80,000 people needing to be removed in 14 days, they've so far removed 1,400 (and added back 1,000+) in two days. If they're not getting 3k+ people out per day by tomorrow, this is going to turn into a true human rights nightmare, and the whole thing will be livestreamed.

Stop simping for Biden you fag.

If he wanted out, why are we sending 7000 more troops to the country? Biden got talked into thinking he was invincible by his cronies, and got sack tapped by the Taliban who had been playing it cool.
nah, he's not entirely wrong. if you assume trump got fucked by the swamp, you think someone like biden wouldn't, just because he's another swamp creature?

remember biden is just the figurehead and his admin the new paintjob on an old car. the rest of the apparatus merely updates the portrait of the sitting president in their office and keeps going like before. that's why "muh 25th" won't do anything.
the swamp is decades old by now, it's pretty much guaranteed they figured out long ago how to hide shit or fudge the numbers to get the POTUS signature they want.

however I don't think it was some form of rebellion or inner conviction, trump already got the plan rolling, going back in would've been even worse (even tho that forever war is exactly what the swamp wants, so they tried to stall), biden gets cranky old man style and just says "least want a photo-op with my name on it, get it done" without budging. there's only so much you can fudge the numbers before it bites you in the ass, and the outcome is usually the chaos and mismanagement you saw.

Jesus, they keep coming up with more memes.
