Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

What, you expect the GOP to actually make moves to win?
What a shrewd idea; their business is losing enough to be the underdog, but also enough to survive.
Actually winning means they'd have to keep their word to their constituents and make policies that benefit Americans, "fuck that."

Cannot believe I'm saying this, but if this accelerates their incompetency and corruption towards impeachment or prosecution, then I'm all for it.

Hate to say it, but you're right. The GOP, federally, is merely an extension of the current administration. The last time the GOP had any resemble of morals were their integration stance on African-Americans nearly two hundred years ago.

To provide some background and maybe nudge that belief, consider the following:

1: We have seen for a while Biden and Kamala avoiding each other. Remember the photo of her glowering at the 'bipartisan' infrastructure meetup? How Kamala has avoided going anywhere she is told? so;
2: Kamala is -deeply discontent- with what she is doing. The reasons why can be debated, I have proposed my own theory, but its hard to argue she isn't hating things right now. The proof?
3: We have now three separate confirmations from three separate people with known insiders that Kamala specifically is angry.

Now, draw this out, widen the circle.

4: This is a colossal fuckup, easily in the running for one of if not the biggest fuckup.
5: From Congress to the Glowies, to basically everything else there are quick disavowals. Even the media has become schizophrenic on this.
6: This is on top of a series of crises that have seen just continued damage.
7: Audits are still happening, the moratorium thing is still happening. That's two -major- crises right there.

Right, the scene and major player is set. But we only have one side to this. You need two in a war. So consider;

8: Jill Biden , the Woman Behind The Man for Biden. Now sidelined by a cabal, outright loaths Kamala.
9: Joe Biden keeps going to bed early, always citing... Jill Biden.
10: Joe is now brought out of one early, no way Jill allowed this. His appearance last was bad, slurring and barely coherent even with a teleprompter. The last time we saw him before then he was wandering around... lost.


So, you have the pieces. Where do your conclusions lead you?

This. All those nice ships, tanks, planes, and choreographed marching troops/sailors mean nothing. NO real combat experience earlier than 1979. NO experience in fielding carrier task groups. And let's not forget the PLA is involved in a certain number of business ventures, least within China. That's why I maintain for all the problems in the US military, largely of their and civilian politicians' making, Russia and China are more screwed up than we are.

Can you imagine a Chinese aircraft carrier sinking beneath the waves thanks to a US sub? Can you imagine a Chinese invasion force getting wrecked on the way to Taiwan? I sure can. Can you imagine how that would look to the world? I sure can - China talked big, got dicks knocked in the dirt.

And one more observation. Do you know of ANY other country that could start landing significant numbers of transports in Kabul within 24 hours of a requirement being issued? I sure can't. The US has a power projection capability second to none. China sure couldn't get waves of transports into Kabul, neither could Russia. The Brits may be able to get a couple in, maybe a few from Europe. No "may" about it for the USAF - land the plane, load it, get the fuck out. Rinse (definitely!) and repeat as needed until the job is done or the civilians in Washington say to stop.

It’s hilarious Biden and some of his staffers thought they could just leave for the week and are being dragged back to address the situation.

I'll defend Russia here, despite their moves in Chechnya and Crimea their army isn't as aimed towards offense or power projection as the U.S. or China. Heavy investment in Artillery and heavy guns, alongside doctrinal training, focused on holdout tactics has a strong gearing towards a highly -defensive- army. In a head-to-head battle, the U.S. wins, but that is only comparing offense to offense. Any defensive war has a lot of -strong- pros to the Russian army and I'd go so far as to say even with good leadership I'd give it a coin toss for America to win an offensive war against Russia.

That's just it... I legitimately don't think that was a call by Biden or his staffers... or his handlers. Jill has been lurking around the edges, asserting more control of Joe's timetable and meetings. She is always there, just waiting on the sidelines. The woman is a Hillary, someone who married their husband and used them as a prop for their own ambitions. It's not hard to come to the conclusion she might have decided that if they are going to run her husband out till he is run too ragged then throw him away, she might be able to get some vengeance for the both of em.
