Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Because Jill is a smarter version of Hillary. Hillary wanted all the power herself, the power and the acclaim. Jill was content to not be the one in office but to merely be the one with all the power.

I will never forgive them this. Even though I went 'none of the above' there were endless people jeering that every vote for Trump was a vote for fascism, everyone who voted for him was 'complicit' (in what, I still don't know). How hateful they were to anyone who weren't their politics, and not wanting to be a liberal/progressive democrat must be from a weakness of mind and soul. I tolerated friends who would make snide remarks that I must be an asshole for not thinking Trump is Hitler 2.0, or their little savior complex lecturing me because Trump wanted to Holocaust non-white lgbt. Even things Trump couldn't have possibly foreseen or prevented like the Capital Shuffle or car running into the crowd was his fault, therefore the fault of the voters.

So this will be their legacy. They'll blame Trump and the American Taliban but they can die knowing they caused this.

Crossposted from the Taliban thread, because I think this is about to be a real clusterfuck.

I've been keeping an eye on reported evacuation flights. Flights aren't coming out of there without being noticed when they leave Afghan airspace and turn the transponders back on.

It doesn't appear that any planes since the initial 640-person C-17 have been loaded beyond their traditional "full" complement of humans, even though most of these planes are designed to carry large metal objects and could easily carry 2-4x their normal seated capacity if preserving human life were the principal objective of the current mission.

Instead, all evidence points to flights being underloaded, with just a few people on planes that can hold many more. Australia sent a 90-man plane to pick up 26 people.

Even if everything was loaded as much as possible, I don't see that there's any way the current air traffic numbers could suggest an evacuation of more than 1000 people today.

My prediction for the total number of evacuees for the previous 24 hours, by the time of the next daily briefing, is 650-900. We'll see.


Every plane that goes up with 20, 40, 50 people represents dozens of lives of women and children which could have been saved but will instead probably end on the streets of Kabul. It's becoming very evident that something else is motivating the transfers of the very specific people being transferred, and that most citizens of the United States are simply not a priority.

Back then we were still riding high off the optimism of the 90s and Current Year hadn't yet divided Americans so heavily. As for your other statement, if Biden's plan hadn't gone to hell it would have made those families seem blinded by the past. Now? They're fucking vindicated.

Dunno...have seen some reasonably good roads there in various car-related videos. Also, can't discount railways. Believe the Russian gauge is still wider than everyone else's, which means we'd need to convert Russian tracks for our/NATO rolling stock.

Wouldn't be shocking if "teh withdrawal" was another front to fly in and dump more immigrants into the country.
