Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

That opens up the question of who, exactly, is being pulled out of there if not American citizens. I can't imagine even the Kabul elite would be that well-off to warrant borderline private evacuation flights like that.

Just how many glowies did we have in that hellhole that are now coming out of the woodwork and hopping aboard the transports?

I've been keeping an eye on reported evacuation flights. Flights aren't coming out of there without being noticed when they leave Afghan airspace and turn the transponders back on.

Barring volcano lair level evil or some fear that they'll get bomb trucked if they're on the runway too long, there's no reason to just leave that space empty. So really, the question should be what else are they loading up, and if not in Kabul, then where. It wouldn't be arms, that ships sailed and the PR of prioritizing guns over people would go over 10x worse than the PR of losing more guns. I can't imagine its sensitive intel. Not because such intel couldn't exist, but that its unlikely to be mass planeloads of it without press on the ground noticing.

Really, any press on the ground should have caught large quantities of anything taking up that space and reported on it like mad, which brings back to "its probably actually full of people". I don't know where you are getting the passenger load numbers from, but unless its from filming loading up and flying off, I'd suspect they're falsified. Its not like the US or other countries would feel the need to lie about how many afghans and the like they're running out, they get hard at the thought of the PR of being able to tout more of them. So it stands to reason there's some other reason to keep them secret. Something worth risking American lives over.

Mostly just thinking out loud here, I'm on the edge of believing it really is just volcano lair evil afoot.

the gauge is different but refitting trains isnt not a big issue, europe already produces the right gauged trains and the older trains have been changed a couple of times.
you only need to pack containers from one train to another, thats been done in europe all the time because countries like spain have wider cauges.

the idea that there will be any rail left in russia is optimistic, they will blow up as much as they can, same for roads. but you dont have to go deep, both major cities in russia are way closer to nato/ukrainian borders than before and there is no need for a rush for oil this time.

Speaking about Newsom, he is currently trying to sue to cancel the recall. He is not confident at all.

The problem with recalling him is that the vote to recall him is going to be right down to the wire. And when in the margin of being vunerable for fraud, who's to say who wins?

Also, California is about to make 2020 look like a fucking joke when it comes to election integrity. They are allowing literally anyone PRINT THEIR OWN BALLOTS. Shit is easily going to be stolen if it is within 5 points. Even then, they'll be counting for months to successfully "fortify" the election outcome.

Not to make excuses for TPTB and I could be off... But the 600 person plane was a massive fucking security risk both mechanically and in terms of a possible bad actor. The pilot in that plane was put in a very shitty situation. And they may be concerned about the possibility of Taliban or other terrorist groups sneaking an operative on board in the chaos. 50 people are both more manageable and "less" of a loss than 100-200 per plane if something like that were to happen.

Then again who knows, the glowies could be emptying out the holding cells where they keep the prisoners not deemed enough of a risk for gitmo but still dangerous.

Good points, some real food for thought there. We'd have little problem overunning Kaliningrad, as well. Might sub that out to the Poles. They'd probably enjoy it,

But I just don't see a ground invasion of Russia, unless they struck first.
