Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

The pilot in that plane was put in a very shitty situation. And they may be concerned about the possibility of Taliban or other terrorist groups sneaking an operative on board in the chaos. 50 people are both more manageable and "less" of a loss than 100-200 per plane if something like that were to happen.

Then again who knows, the glowies could be emptying out the holding cells where they keep the prisoners not deemed enough of a risk for gitmo but still dangerous.

This is what I've been thinking. The optics (on top of the tragic loss of life, but feds won't care about that) of a suicide bomber taking out 650 people would be absolutely insane. The trade off being there's no way in hell they're getting everyone out before the deadline.

there is also the fact that no one actually wants them. the american public doesnt want 30k afghans. I sorta doubt they could even pass a bill to allow it. they'll be stuck in limbo.

how many people on those c-17's were actually terps and such has to be asked too. if it was just bum rush for the planes there is no way of know who tf is on there.

does the admin really want a immigration fight over something they caused to begin with?

They've been allowed for the most part to get away with flooding the country with Third Worlders from the Southern border, why wouldn't they think they'd be allowed to get away with flooding the country with Third Worlders via military airlift?

You forget that the 2nd Amendment exists, and that if the people are pressed, they WILL hold the people with the tools for survival at gunpoint. Rich people are mortal still, and unless they are psychic and leave early they’re gonna help the homeland before farmer Joe actually does do something.

This isn't a made-up example, it actually happened. This is how much things like personal initiative are reviled in China. There was nothing but benefit here, it doesn't even have a downside. And they forced him to rip it all out because he failed to get proper clearance from his superiors.

This is why China can’t really fight a war against the US. We’ll figure out the playbook, then force them into situations where the plan needs to change fast and hard, then keep changing the script until they burn out. The only way out of this trap is to pull an “American idiot maneuver”, something that the Chinese can neither do nor nullify, unlike Russia or the European countries, who can match us or be prepared for it due to a history of fighting alongside or against us.

It's also a lot easier for them to guilt trip Americans into accepting them with the whole 20-year occupation thing and reminding the public that a lot of these refugees would have gotten the shit killed out of them if they stayed.

That'll be enough to distract most people from asking, "Great, but why bring them here?"

I don't know if it's the alcohol, but this thread gets weird at night. Thankfully, this is a US-centric thread so hopefully I shouldn't miss much besides shitposting until the morning.

Good luck with the hangover, gents. I work early mornings so I'll wait until Friday to break out the tequila.
