1st excerpt - it's not just america. The shit that is happening is larger than american policies shaping the world. America is just a chess piece, albeit a rather crucial one, in a larger game ran by bigger fish. Same with UK, Australia, Germany, Canada etc. "They" as in the true PTB are using different nations as petri dishes to see how much shit people will tolerate before rising up. The UK has been used to great effect to further the surveillance state to the extent that the people there have been monitored like cattle even more than Americans for decades with not even a significant whimper. Look at the lockdown shit being done in Australia and Canada. Germany imported so many migrants and then gave them more protection than German citizens. America has political leaders that are blatantly unelected and no one has resisted yet.
Biden isn't even the real culprit for it, it goes larger than him. He's just a member of the right club.
To the second excerpt, it's complicated and the laws in place aren't effectively enforced as they should be. Basic rule is that freedom of speech is there but so is free market capitalism. The big tech companies are private companies and can impose their own rules. That's where the fight over section 230 comes in. Section 230 at it's heart protects website hosts that serve as free speech platforms from lawsuits due to content hosted, under the logic that a website offering itself as a free speech forum to people can't be expected to always moderate every "illegal" message all the time. Which is good, solid logic. Free speech forums are given this protections but publishers, that is to say platforms such as news publishers etc, are not. That's because they editorialize content on their site efficiently already and thereby it can generally be expected that content hosted on their site must in some way reflect the perspectives of the publication. That's why American press is very careful to publish certain articles with plenty of "anonymous sources" and "opinion" in the header.
The thing is that websites like twitter and Facebook profit massively from this umbrella protection of 230, while still engaging in editorialization as though they were publications. Its to the level that Facebook has automatic bans for certain word triggers on both Facebook and Instagram. At that level it can and should be argued that these websites are no longer free speech platforms but editorialized publications which no longer deserve protection from liability.

What's there to be upset about? Orange Man had all the time in the world to join a different social media site and use his Twitter while he had it to drive people to that before the axe came down. Trump being in the situation he's in on social media is pretty much entirely his fault at this point.
