ANON #2: "It wasn't that she was too old (they picked Zan) it was that her drama is infamous and there was no way she even got submitted to Toei et al for consideration, she didn't even pass the narrowing down. (ACP's 'casting calls' usually consisted of you submitting your costume to their sign-up list via an entry on their site and then they'd pick people to fill necessary roles based on schedules / quality / reputation / etc. Some people have been blacklisted for being late / showing up hungover / badmouthing dubs when they are representing a dub of a show, etc, and some people never even got on the list to be blacklisted, aka Lori. In the beginning it was just people the ACP guys knew and could trust to make decent costumes and show up and do the work, then in the last few years it became a lot more picky (aka looks over work ethic priority lol, so it's been harder to keep people) and some series / companies that required company approval like Toei for Sailor Moon Crystal. Also, ACP used to pay for people to make costumes and sometimes hotel rooms and always badges, but over the years they've gotten way stingier, even though these companies are paying them to find cosplayers to promote their stuff, usually only providing a badge and MAYBE a spot in a hotel room, in exchange for working either in costume or sometimes a company t-shirt for 4 hours a day every day (aka the badge isn't even payment you literally need it to do the work). Some people got it really into their heads that this made them the 'official face character' (see: some of the Sailor Moon Crystal people since Sailor Moon usually attracts the crazies for whatever reason) but in the end it's really just a lot of unpaid exploitative work for very little recognition or anything that even matters.) It was hilarious she even tried like no one with any basic knowledge of cosplay, much less the guys who run ACP, would ever trust her to represent officially a huge property like that."
