Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

My guess is that the Chinese will try to seize Kinmen island next. I don't think they're willing to tank their economy sailing an invasion fleet into the strait, but seizing a small island a stone's throw from the mainland is much easier. Then they ask the US if they're willing to go to war over this tiny island, and when Biden or whoever bitches out the 'peaceful' annexation of Taiwan becomes inevitable at some point.

It's honestly disgusting how they're treating the situation. I feel bad for the lives sacrificed for such incompetency in this 20 year war. I'm also glad too that my father talked me out of joining the military when I was younger after the shit he went through in the middle east from 90s to 2010. Such betrayal to the vets...

I‘m not gonna underestimate any possibility right now. In 2023 we might see it happen, just because Biden nosedives that hard.

Also, the procedure is for Trump to be appointed VP after the current speaker becomes POTUS, then the President steps down, giving his seat to Trump. That is the most “appropriate“ way. They could technically appoint Trump as Speaker, but that brings him too close to the root of the swamp.
