A service that provides a temporary phone number for the purpose of setting up a twitter account - Do you know of a reliable free one?

I'm not saying to trust Twitter or anything but wanted to point out you can delete the phone number from your account after you confirm it.

Yeah, doesn't make me feel much safer. I made a twitter account a couple weeks ago and used my phone number to activate it. As soon as I started using it one of the suggested people to follow was a close friend of mine. Got so creeped out by that I deactivated it same day. I used a burner email and I don't have the twitter app, so I'm not sure how they could have accessed my contacts.

Easy; Your friend uses the app and your number is in his contacts, thus when you use that number on twitter... :)

ETA: I'm a late retard. But still; everyone should remember this - you can have decent opsec regarding your own anonymity; but all it takes is for someone to have your number and name in their contacts and using whatever social media. You will have a shadow profile, like it or not.
