So far the Talichads seem pretty based, we'll see if they stick to what they've been doing so far. The best way to utterly humiliate the US is to behave with kindness and be gracious hosts while the US leaves, and just keep gaslighting everyone and pretending all the bad shit from before is pure propaganda. If they keep it up the American Empire will go the way of the USSR fairly quickly. Other countries are already refusing to allow US forces to set up bases in their territory, and history may very well write the US as the villains of the entire conflict.

March was a very deliberate time to stop ANA payment. Given a standard government payroll system, one could chalk it up to a clerical error and that the soldiers would receive back pay. Happens with the US military as well and it goes both ways.

Once May rolls around, oops! Taliban guys are messing up the payroll! Darn those pesky Mujahideen! Meanwhile the provincial leaders have used the months of pay to bribe Taliban checkpoints and GTFO of Dodge.

But it would not be i this abysmal state we see now.

Mind you if the U.S. Wasn't doing things another country would.
But america has grown so incompetent and complacent that any attempt at foreign policy comes off as a failure.
Almost like if things were done by aliens that have zero clue on how human nature and cultures work, which is true to an extent, the U.S. Has forgotten that other countries are not the U. S. and maybe don't want to end up like the U. S.

Given the United States long public history of fucking over, abandoning and betraying "allies," it is amazing the rest of the world haven't figured that out yet.

As shitty as the US are, the alternatives are much worse. Would the Japanese get a better deal with the Chinese or Russians? Would the Estonians, Ukies, Poles or Czechs be better off under the Umbrella of the Russians? Global Superpowers are literatly the same shitshow as the US two party system.

I don't buy that. With or without the U.S the ME would still have various groups and ethnicities all hating and killing each other.

Afghanistan has been in constant civil war conflicts since 1989 (1979 if you include the USSR war), with different governments and rebel groups, not just the Taliban. The U.S didn't arrive until 2001. I just don't see how in this particular case, the U.S would be the "bad guys". I don't remember any big controversies like Iraq or Vietnam. Outside of the way the leaving was handled completely terribly, it's more on the Afghan Government themselves being incompetent.

All in all, that place fucking sucks.

I will say I am proud, constitution-love American. Despite that, if the Taliban posts guards and pulls security to keep anyone from entering the deserted American embassy... that would be such a fucking kino, Chad move I don't know how anyone wouldn't be able to respect it.
Watch the US State Department shit itself as you steam roll the country, and then behave in accordance with international law and diplomatic customs by ensuring the safety of law-abiding foreign citizens and the integrity of foreign embassies, showing the behaved like frightened little girls for no reason.
