Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

That's a pretty normal 2 day span for me. Then again, I've probably got a problem.
That sounds like a great deal of coffee. If all that coffee is caffeinated, not the best for you on any sort of extended basis.

I don't drink coffee. Smells good, tastes awful to me without a ton of sugar. Made me in a decided minority on active duty, and every place I worked in civilian life. Have one cola most days, though, plus a chocolate bar.

Reading this thread, I am heartened by the responses savaging the Biden regime. Suggest that for everyone who whacks Joey, there are many, many more out there thinking the same thing who just happen not to know of KF. 👍

Just a thought on a late summer's evening. May have gotten to 70 today, have windows and door open to cool off house before going to sleep.

Ground situation is not good, The only forces in the area worth a dam are the brits, god bless their souls. They are pulling out everyone they can.

They are extremely pissed off at the american response to the Afghan civilians and overall lack of activity.

Delightful, biden ignored the army and his own diplomats.

Clocks ticking you sacks of shit. Figure it out.

No idea, but that's the only reason I can think of for being a good reason (beneficial to the country) for sticking around for so long.
It wasn't beneficial to the country, let me provide the black pills here for once.

We were in because politicians wanted to send men to their deaths to inflate their own egos, to prove how powerful they were. Meanwhile, those self-same politicians got to grow fat by investing in companies that would make the gear for this 'war'.

It was a terrible strategic blunder putting Biden in. Trump seemingly rigged a bunch of poison pills in case they fucked him over.
They could, but you'd need to give each facet of your idea its own movie before putting them all together.
I gave a friend of mine "Dune" and I'm guessing that his head would explode if he ever did read it. The movie might scrap by just because it will rip out everything super heavy.

So another feather to add to Trump's hat I suppose. But I wonder what benefit do politicians have to stay in that shithole forever anyway? Is it like a way to keep the US military occupied doing something "meaningful" so that they can keep using the army as a jobs program for dumb proles? Is there some kind of strategic advantage to holding it, like keeping it away from China? Or do they treat it as one big piggy bank of tax payer cash they can skim off of and keep their buddies in the defense industry happy? Perhaps it's a little bit of all three? America's adventures in the middle east just seem so pointless from an outsiders perspective, it feels like it accomplished literally nothing other than kill a bunch of goatfuckers.
Afghanistan has a large untapped mineral wealth, with an estimated $1 trillion dollars worth of rare earth minerals. However, the time to really start moving to exploit that was decades ago, when the Taliban were on the backfoot and the Northern Alliance was in a position of strength. Starting work on that would've not only provided a valuable strategic resource for the West, but whose extraction would've necessitated the new government building up the infrastructure and wooing the support of the people living in the rural countryside. And if they had done that, Afghanistan would've probably ended up in a much better position than where it is today, as the majority of the Afghan people would've actually had some concrete benefits from the Kabul central government, and so probably would've been more eager to resist any Taliban resurgence.

Instead for whatever reason - whether you believe it being the Neocons and DC swamp creatures wanting a perpetual money machine for the MIC, or them having a genuine but ultimately foolish belief that Afghanistan could be transformed into a Western-style cosmopolitan democracy and civil society - we instead wound up with a situation where all "rebuilding" efforts were funneled directly to the capital, and corruption flourished. The US and other Western armies stayed in a continual hunt for Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden (not realizing he was on the other side of the border) while also jetting off the start adventuring in Iraq, which became almost the solo focus of the Bush administration.

For the past 15 years or so, the war in Afghanistan has basically been a war run on inertia - we kept staying and fighting there because we've been staying and fighting there.

Does Afghanistan have oil? I thought they had rare earth minerals only.
They actually do have some oil reserves in the north (hilariously discovered a couple years into Obama's first term). It's not a lot (~2 billion bbl give or take) and is largely pumped via a Chinese state company, but it's enough to keep the country self-sufficient.

This is the state of corporate Washington D.C. funded media and users on Twitter. They’re forcing the American public to side with people taking back Afghanistan while being condescending to actual Americans strapped and held hostage in airplanes not knowing when they’re coming back home.

While they ask us to let Afganis and their women come here in the process.

*again crossing fingers hoping that no one used this meme already in this thread*

Fucksake is there a bottom to all this? It just keeps spiraling out of control. No wonder the resident is hiding under his bed.

No. I said it before here: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/joe-biden-news-megathread.69229/page-1811#post-9771733

Effectively, they ran out of capital, came up with an idea that would generate a -lot- of capital, -borrowed against- that future capital, and then the thing meant to generate it not only did not come, but exploded in a way that its cost them capital... lots of it.... which they didn't have... while already being -in the red-.

There is -nothing- they can do to pull up from this. Just... nothing.
