She's kind of hard to get a pin on because its not super clear how much she believes vs. how much she pretends to believe. BPD or another B cluster PD feels realistic, but if she does really believe her ghost bullshit Schizotypal would make sense.

EDIT: And of course she could have more than one possible diagnosis, and that can make what we see kind of skewed too.

When you take into consideration the resources she has to back her claims (more than one doctor that she sees regularly, already being on food stamps and welfare, documented mental health history ie hand sanitizer), and how her application is still denied, it’s pretty obvious that she is, in fact, not what her state considers “disabled enough” to qualify for SSI.

And speaking about being too dumb to fool the SSI but not enough to get it by legit means, how much of this is her parents doing?

Do they support her on getting it and legit think she's this disabled or do they know she's a faker and are just like "uh-huh honey, you'll surely get it this time".

A third option would be them enabling her but *also" being too dumb to fool the system.
