From what I understand the Taliban haven't in fact conquered the whole country, they've being doing deals with local Warlords, paying them off with Chinese and Gulf money, in return for safe passage with the promise that the Taliban won't interfere with their territory and the bosses get to keep their palaces and pedo harems. However the Taliban being the Taliban this won't last.
