The next 72 hours in Kabul are going to be critical.
Out of control fires with no fire brigade or control (making it even harder for stranded people to escape), no banks open, no ATMs, food prices skyrocketing all over Afghanistan. Food and bathroom situation in and around the airport isn't tenable for much longer. And that's not even mentioning the fact that this is basically a hostage situation where if the Taliban decided to, they could start shooting hundreds or even thousands of people en masse and cause a true stampede that killed even more.
This is about to become a true humanitarian disaster, the kind you will tell your children and grandchildren about. Don't flinch away like most people will. Be one of the people who can tell this story, and who can tell why it happened.

I think part of it is unlike most Biden problems it doesn't require any explanation. It's a lot of really bad visuals so even the most illiterate can get why this is bad before they start to hear spin, and now that makes it the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Instead we have some thousands of soldiers under siege at the airport and more Americans than that outside in the city and God knows where else in Afghanistan

This administration is too dumb to even consider that 6000 soldiers and one runway isn't enough when there's tens of thousands probably well over 100,000 going nuts with fear civilians outside and thousands of jihadis in striking distance if things really go south. Which they probably will

That would be ideal. Right now, too many laws passed are "we the legislature give this agency the power to make up whatever rules and we'll go with that." So there's no chance for voters to actually have a say in what those rules are in a meaningful way. Even if there are "public comment" sessions, they don't listen.
With the cyberattack, the admin is making the case for the next GOP president and/or Trump to call for cleaning house with the bureaucrats. There are a thousand crucial tasks the government has to be able to manage, and hiring deep state wokies just because they've been around the longest is a massive weakness. Clear everyone out.

I am a history nerd. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say, if we aren't heading toward some "end times" scenario like what's in the Bible (which is becoming an increasingly reaslistic possibility imo), we are heading back to the same type of slumbering stupidity that America was in while Nazi Germany was re-arming. China is the closest modern analogue to Nazi Germany that I can even fathom, they might not have that same level of competence just yet, but they are in that 1920s-1930s growing pains stage that the national socialists in Germany went through, they're just going through it on the "communist" end of the horseshoe.
I still haven't figured out exactly what the move was on the bigwigs part, because I'm sure they have to at least be aware how big a risk it was and even Obama doesn't seem to have had that much faith in Biden. But the rank and file 100% would have voted for the offspring of Satan and Hitler, just to get rid of Trump, for one primary reason - Trump had the balls to look them in the eyes and tell them no.
If ISIS responds to the Taliban executing their commander a few days ago before the last Americans are out (the State Dept. seems to have reason to think this is a possibility) shit is going to get even worse, if you can fathom that.

These two things are related.
Being President in the case of Biden and Harris was supposed to be a turnkey operation. Coronavirus vaccine gets deployed, people go back to work (because Democrats believe that people WANT to work but society keeps prevents that) and the Taliban was to be kept at bay by the Pentagons experts.
But shit has gone sideways. Coronavirus fear porn has Dems afraid of going outside. People yelled "YOLO" when the government was paying their bills. And the Taliban refused to play nice.
So Harris has to listen to Biden *ramble* every fucking day. Every. Day. Hours of her life being bled away because holy shit, Biden cannot talk. And since he's incapacitated that leaves her to clean up the messes in public.
