He's young enough, I don't mind waiting. I was in the midst of researching his history, as I'm naturally skeptical of establishment sorts. However, he appears to be more populist than I had previously expected which was a pleasant surprise. I just feel having someone like Desantis real close to Trump would be a good thing. Considering Trump is at his best when he is brash and blunt as a bat, which unfortunately alienates boomers who want the fairy tale presidential image. I'm all for our government looking and sounding like crooked toothed parliament.

He was commander of a cargo squadron in Vietnam. He "loved" to tell the story about when he was told to evacuate a bunch of young children from some city that was about to be invaded and the guy who was supposed to bolt down the doors didn't tighten them all the way. They hit some turbulence and the "cargo" was inadvertently jettisoned.
I don't know if grandpa was bullshitting, but that's definitely a situation they'd like to avoid.
