For the the polidicks spergs here, I have a genuine question, why did Biden, or his handlers, went along with this withdrawn debacle.
I'm far from a political pundit
Folks, was just thinking of something.
Have seen a lot of Presidents, have read about others.
EVERY President has had at least one major fuckup. However, when the Presidents I saw committed their fuckups, I had a reasonable belief and trust they'd bounce back, recover, and keep taking care of business for the country. They did. Exception was Nixon in 1974.
This time, I don't believe Biden can recover. Not at all. I take no pleasure from saying this. The spirit is willing, but the body and mind are rapidly failing.
We as a nation have never been in this territory. Everyone knew FDR was in bad shape physically in late 44 and early 45 but he was still mentally in command until the day the aneurysm got him. Ike had two heart attacks but there was no doubt he was in command. Reagan was shot and underwent surgery, and as soon as he woke up from the procedure he was back in charge.
Some of the most dangerous times happen when there's a leadership vacuum in a major or superpower. People were on pins and needles in Washington whenever a Soviet leader died, since the selection process for a new General Secretary was so opaque. There was a lot of anus-clenching after Brezhnev died. Just get used to Andropov and he kicks the bucket. Sweat things out until the husk Chernenko got in. Lastly, a bit more anus-clenching until Gorbachev became General Secretary, and later the first and last President. Same thing happens when China changes leaders, for the same reason. Uncertainty is dangerous. You want something certain, even if the person's an asshole.
There's a definite leadership vacuum in Washington. Have never seen anything like this. We have a President that cannot do his job. We have a Vice-President who has no clue and has no desire to do her job. And we are just seven months into a 48-month term. All I can think of is Biden being 25thed, Kamala picking a VP, and her resigning.
We are truly living in interesting times, and NOT in a good way. We can have no idea what will happen in Washington tonight, much less tomorrow. NOT a good thing, in my book.
That might very well be the case, and I'm no political pundit nor I like to make presumptions over shit I don't really understand, i would like to give two points:
1- This is still early on Biden's presidency, and news cycles are moving faster than ever, Biden's strategy of hide and shut up gave him the presidency in the first place, and so far, I think it will work again on his behalf, unless something drastic changes.
2- Biden cognitive problem is one everybody knows and the democrats will just truck along, it is pretty clear that it is Biden's hadlers that are running the officie and so far that hasn't been a issue. If kamala harris was going to make her move to get the seat, it should have been now, but instead she flew away to Vietnam to do whatever the fuck, she knows that ain't gonna happen, and after this shit she will go back to the senate.
I think Biden will be fine really, I mean, as fine as it can be. We can't forget that this whole thing is a machine, no one is vital, and the cogs will keep turning. Nothing short of Biden droping dead will change things (which could happen as well, at his age this stress is fatal).
What is really fucked though is the democrats. Not really talking about red waves, or republican house take over or whatever, I'll believe when it happens, but the image the democrats is in the toilet, they are trully the image of incompetence, be the dumbass in California panicking over his recall, or the clueless dementia ridden man in the white house, all these fuck ups have destroyed the very image of the democrat party.
Even Trump have people that still like him, I think no one likes the Democrats, but the vote blue no matter who is one strong tradition that they rely upon... for how long I wonder.
