Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

The entire premise that you harm other people by not getting vaccinated, and comparing it to drunk-driving and whatever else irresponsible behavior is an obvious logical fallacy.

I can harm other people only if I am infected with COVID. Now, if my infection is asymptomatic according to Michael Yeadon it's absurd to fear I would spread it. He said that before COVID it was a common knowledge that an asymptomatic spreading is a nonsense. If your body is fighting virus to the point you have zero symptoms your viral load is too low to spread it around.

Also it's more likely that the vaxxed person will have an asymptomatic infection, right? Right?!

Call me dumb but have there been any covid/vaccine skeptics that DIDN'T die from covid? How convenient that all these people who stepped forward to lead the movement are in the 0.09% that croaks from the coof.

Is this real? Or is this satire . I need help over here
It says they told someone something while they were unconscious
It must be fake right ? I’m such an idiot but muh mentals
Poe's Law is a thing, but I think the unconscious comment, the Pfizer plug, and their appearance gives it away.

wife finally got the test back over the weekend, it's officially coof per the test at least, but by this point she's mostly over it
I was already all up in her business repeatedly over the past week, and I'm only coughing my usual amount because I smoke and have other unwise lifestyle choices.
lol eat me coof ur feg
I got seasonal bug every fucking year for like ten years around the 90s
you ain't got shit on my skillz

I gotta be honest, I think doomscrolling this topic has fucked me up. Work is forcing me to get vaccinated (which, even if that's illegal, just try to do something about it). Been successfully bullied into taking an experimental treatment against my will. And I'm pretty sure it's gonna kill me, even though that's extremely unlikely even in the worst case scenario.

Doctor told me to take aspirin for a while to prevent possible blood clots from J&J. Going with the devil I know rather than even less well understood mRNA mechanisms. Getting it done sometime this week.

Welp. Cowabunga it is.

fake your card and lie

If it were just going into a restaurant or something like that requiring a card, I'd consider it, but I honestly think my paperwork will get checked at some point.
well, that's on you then
I'd think long term effects of shit I shot in my veins was more of a concern then HR checking shit in three years.
but you do you.

Bruh, if biden passes his shitty mandate I'm letting myself be fired and getting the fuck out of healthcare. I don't know what your situation is, what obligations you have, or bills to pay, just know that there's no shortage of jobs out there that require no prior experience. Hell a burger place in my area recently came out saying they're raising their starting wage to $16/hr, and this is in a relatively cheap cost of living area. There are so many alternatives to capitulating to the jab. Tons of places are absolutely desperate, my friend works at a machine shop that pays very well all things considered, they require no formal education or experience with the tools they use and they just can't keep people because apparently no one wants to work.

I have the opposite problem: I have a big boy, professional job with a degree and certifications and shit. But I'm in the wrong area for this industry (I got VERY lucky with this one) and I'm pretty sure I'd only be delaying the inevitable.

You missed my point, I also have a degree, I'm walking away from what I thought was going to be my career for life because I won't capitulate to this bullshit. I know I'm resourceful enough to do well for myself even if I have to start over from scratch. I imagine if you were able to graduate college into what I assume is a well respected profession you are also most likely resourceful enough to start over from scratch. Don't delude yourself into thinking once you've jumped through this hoop they'll leave you alone, making cheddar is nice, but its not worth your dignity.

Lemme learn ya a word mah nigga, try real hard and remember it ok bro:

NO

Here I'll use it in a real world example for you: SoyFag "Take this vaccine" BackboneChad "NO"

Anyways an additional little rant, I am getting tired of these I Fucking Love Science people. Their self righteousness is starting to tire me, especially how they do not make any ethical decisions but rely on an authority.

Case in point, is on Friday. Here I am sitting in my office and chatting up a guy on a dating site. He and I seem to be interested in each other and we are discussing having dinner that night. I go back to work then I get a message from him, it says that I forgot to update vaccine status as I did not have a vaccinated internet sticker.

I inform him that I already got COVID and survived. In addition, I also tell him that I test every week as part of my job and I can send him a photo of my negative test results for that week. The response I get?

It a video stating that even if people have natural immunity they should get the vaccine. My response is to cite actual studies saying that natural immunity works at least as good as the least effective vaccine in the United States. His response, is to cite the CDC advice again.

At this point, I just ask him to look at the data and reach his own conclusion. I advise him that to live our lives to the strictest letter of public health officials would be a fucking bore. What does he have to say?

I am risking the lives of others by not getting vaccinated. Now, I am getting tired and tell him that I cannot risk other people's lives as I have a negative test and that in fact vaccinated people that do not get tested are more of a risk. His response it that "I am anti science."

I am about to point out the opposite. That I in fact do look at the science and it indicates that I am at least as well protected as the least effective vaccine. That in fact, he uses appeals to authority and as his bare minimum is "vaccine". He does not care about how effective they are but just about getting vaccinated. I would have loved to explore if he would accept vaccines like SinoVac that is about about 50% effective as the dating site is international. In essence, what I am trying to do is to get him to move beyond vaccine good and to holistically consider this issue.

Alas, he just stated I was selfish and blocked me before my rebuttal. Of courses, when I look this faggot up the Facebook profile has the IFLS sticker with him getting vaccinated.

In closing, if you want to get vaccinated then do so. But don't just accept the whatever someone tells you, look at the data and come to your own conclusion.
Sucks to hit a dead end, but that sounds like a bullet dodged. I would never put up with dating someone who turned into an insufferable psycho nag over a difference of opinion on something that should mean less than nothing to the relationship.

I've been shaking my head in disgust every time I hear about a couple on the rocks because one of them turned into a covid freak. Call me old school, but I thought real, lasting relationships involved willingness to hide a body with your SO. Not threatening hellfire because he rolls his socks up or some stupid shit like that.

It's up to you. Likely one shot isn't going to kill you either long or short term. The side effects are a bitch though, so make sure you milk as much sick leave as you can.

I'd also advise, if you haven't already, to get your employer's requirement for vaccination in writing. Make sure it's signed by someone who's either been delegated by or is an executive office holder. Refuse to sign any risk waivers.

The first one is the easy one but understand that in around 6 months or so they'll be asking you to go get your booster and that request will quickly turn into a requirement if you refuse. What are you going to do then?

the problem is that the old people have all the power in the US currently, if covid killed off everyone over 70 in the US within 6 months, 5 of the top 6 picks for president would have been dead before election day, a good quarter of congress would be essentially empty, rendering a lot of legislation fucking impossible to push thorough. all of our best judges especially on the supreme court would be wiped out too, and that doesn't get into the amount of elderly rich that would suddenly get hit with the estate tax. Buffet would be giving the US a nice $100 billion. hell the people we put in charge of this whole shitshow would have died from it, that would be a terrible sign.

also how deadly was swine flu for the over 70, i have a hard time believing it was more deadly than covid.
Yes and that's why during any other pandemic, you shielded & isolate the vulnerable and high risk and let everyone else get on with. That's what I mean by it's just oldies, you have a clear high risk group with covid, they shouldn't be out unless they choose to go out.
