Plagued COVID Conspiracy Theorists and other idiots - This is not a political thunderdome or gay slapfight thread.

Can I just say my disappointment nobody is saying covid came from space aliens in this thread is immeasurable?
no that would be crazy

Covid is actually derived from adrenochrome which the pedophilic devil-worshipping DEMONRATS extract from children so they can live FOREVER

I dunno, I find the "Covid is actually an inefficient bioweapon" conspiracy be funny.
If you're going to go the bioweapon route and make a full blown theory on that one just focus on how if you were China and you wanted to hurt the US more than other countries you'd make a virus that focuses on obese people in order to hit them harder than anyone else.

I find them funnier when they cross into an actual argument territory for people to fight about.

my dude, why are you implying these people know basic biology let alone microbiology or virology. the only reason why there's any kind of actual argument territory is because we still have naive optimists trying to convince them that they're wrong, instead of accepting the fact they made buying into muh gubmint conspiracy a central aspect of their personality and won't budge until their nearsighted ass is personally affected.

alrighty, the FDA has approved the Pfizer vaccine, so surely the anti-vaxers will be clamoring for the vaccine now, right?

-hears screeching in the distance- huh, that sounds remarkably like a goalpost being moved...
I still see no reason to being forced to take this stupid thing. Covid is not that big a threat for a manditory vaccine.

This is the one I consider at least remotely plausible. Not that it's actually bioengineered, but that it was in some kind of government lab (for bioweapons or just general research) run in the generally shabby way Chinese run things, and they fucked up and it got released.

It still seems much less likely than the wet market idea. Those things are fucking filthy.

There's been over 600k dead in America from it alone and we have retards like you who are so scared of getting a vaccine that you spout retarded conspiracy theories instead. I can't imagine being as big of a coward as you

how many times were you dropped on your head as a child?
I suspect he literally has crippling autism. He never, ever has a retort any time anyone (easily) debunks his retarded talking points. He just spergs shit up that he sees posted by schizos on /pol/ and A&H, and then has no retort when anyone debunks his retarded talking points

I think they got this one backwards. If they trust their natural defenses, they wouldn't be wearing armor.
the immune system isn't some magical all-purpose 360 protection against everything. if you take care of yourself it'll help out a lot, but there's just some pathogens who have evolved to get really good at kicking our ass and that's why we need medical intervention. i feel like a lot of this is denial and fear over how humans can get mowed down so easily by something we can't even see without specialized equipment.

Antivaxers think in binaries.

"I could die of COVID or survive with perfect health, no other outcomes matter."
"The probability of surviving COVID is high, therefore the probability of dying is negligible."
"Everything the authorities say must be absolutely correct, or it is all wrong."
"If vaccines aren't 100% safe and effective, they are 0% safe and effective."
"The only possible reactions to COVID are to panic or ignore it."

I think this is an evolutionary development of our capacity for risk assessment. When risks were more immediate--sabre-toothed tigers hiding in the bushes, for example--risk assessment favored rapid GO-NO GO decisions. Not much room from nuance or expert opinion, you are either cat food or you somehow escape. This form of rapid assessment is not appropriate for many risks in the modern world, but it's still built in to our brains, and people are applying it to COVID. At least this means anti-vaxers on some level recognize COVID as a risk, even if they aren't assessing it in any entirely rational manner.
