I'm not sure if that's entirely true though. I really doubt May was controlling Digibro or anything, if you look at her "personality" with digibro and her "personality" with ethan it's clear that she just shapes herself around whoever she's with, she doesn't have any real personality. As far as I can tell Bird doesn't seem to have any obvious influence over Digi either. I think it's definitely true that he seeks out people who enable him though. Riley is definitely a result of him not wanting to do as much for himself anymore, which is even more obvious with the recent munchy revelations about digi living with his parents.

It's pretty clear from the Ethan Ralph saga that May is a submissive cuckquean and will go with whatever a man tells her. She ideally should not have let Digi troon out, playing into his delusions. Yes, Pedro/ Pedantic Romantic was/is a close friend that trooned out and thing is, if he had just a crossdresser/sissy fetish - not my cup of tea, but imho no big deal, as it was his private matter, but he seemingly took it to the extreme and made it his whole personality and used it as a scapegoat that he was a woman all along and in the end, just wanted no more responsibilities as he 'failed as a man'.

Personally, I don't think so. Digi is chasing the Dragon. He's on a lot of hard drugs and he's chasing the high, he's grasping at a misty vision of what he thinks he sees. It's easy to get caught up in a euphoria of something you think is about to happen. But when it never happens, depression will set in, sooner or later.

He's having an identity crisis. He lost all his friends and loved ones by changing. He ruined his brand and fan-base. He's sold a lot of his cool stuff that used to bring him happiness. I don't believe that Digi is doing any of this for the right reason. It can feel very good in the moment to purge everything, because you're starting fresh. But what happens when he is stuck in this "fresh" state and nothing he was trying to achieve ever happens? What happens when he cannot catch the dragon that he's chasing?

If Digi is waking up happy, it's only because he thinks he's moving towards something huge, but it will never be real. He's not going to blow up as a singer. He's not good at passing as a woman. His talent has completely vanished. He's lost everything. At this point, he might even be scared, but unwilling to admit defeat. The only thing holding him together are the drugs, other people's efforts and videos, and the high that he feels by trying to chase after this imaginary perfect life he thinks he's creating.

I saw that trixie and bird were anti vax and a joke about digi asking his mom for money but damn I didnt know it went down like that.
What I don't get is that digi (unfortunately) DOES still technically have his patreon, even if its down to only a few hundred now so I guess that must mean he's dumping the entirety of his personal funds into drugs then getting his parents to pay for his gas and mcdonalds
