I have a gut feeling they're saying this to roll with the fact that their field commanders aren't retarded and actually taking the initiative of going into the city to rescue people, unlike the US braindeads. this way they can say to their constituents: "we did everything we could, but those dumb cowardly burgers insisted on running with their tails between their legs, so we had no choice but to leave with them."
they might use this to justify europe having an actual military that can go around the world without big daddy america (might actually be a smart idea) or it's just a mask to pretend like they care about their own people. but hey - at least they still care enough to pretend that way, biden and copmala will just laugh on stage while US citizens get abandoned in a hostile country and neither one of them give a damn as to how that looks.

I'm quite looking forward to this. Whatever happens, Biden's liable to come off with the short stick, and probably offend a few allies in the process. He's gonna be in a room of his presumptive peers, who won't be asking from a preapproved book of questions, who'll be laying blame and looking to make moves to secure their nationals in afghanistan before the deadline hits. We already know the brits are gonna come out swinging.
If I was in a world leaders position, I'd cling on hard to Bidens constant verbal fuckups, frustrate him enough with them until he tries to start speaking plain and fucks up hard saying something he really shouldn't have said. Wouldn't even need to go public with it, the threat alone of "You said fucking what to me?" would be a great way to get concessions and your nationals suddenly priority escorted around.
The Taliban aren't gonna want to make the mistake of looking weak. Biden wanted to change from Trumps date to Sept 11th unilaterally, two can play at that game, hence the 31st. But they'll have to back it up. I'm guessing they're gonna focus on the Afghani collaborators though, slaughtering G7 nationals is more trouble than its worth. Really, they just want the nationals out, and the collaborators buried or cowed, everything else is gravy. So that airport crowd is really gonna be at serious risk.

I noticed a few days ago that Twitter changed their sidebar from 'Trending' to 'What's happening'. I assume it's because, for once, the trending hashtags had turned on Biden after the Afghanistan disaster. It's now been replaced by fear mongering articles about covid.
In fact, I've seen headlines about two separate mothers dying and how they want their entire family to now get the vaccine, and some other typical shit like that.
